I fell through: A glimpse of Enlightenment?
    #5285077 - 02/10/06 09:16 AM (17 years, 11 months ago)

I had a very interesting dream situation that I almost entirely forgot until now.

Last night I was standing on this piece of ground which was very flimsy and it completely caved in.... beneath it was nothing...... and I was struggling to hold on with my hands to pull me up.

But I fell.

I fell into the concept of falling. Forever, falling. No me, no self, but of course, there is a me, there is a self, becasue he is falling.

I tried to find ground..... I got back up and it fell away again. There was no up or down or anything in between.

I realize that this is what enlightenment is. You are not CONNECTED to any single thing in the entire universe...... but you can still choose to connect to anything you want to. I.e. you CAN still keep living in a physical body if you wish.

The details are very very vague but when I had a dream body again I felt the presence of this falling sensation with me and it was as though I was interacting with other people's karma and life essences while in the falling sensation, and I wanted to help them and just automatically fix their lives, but it seemed as if I wasn't allowed to.

It's very very vague...... it seemed to me to be the jihana of infinite space, nothingness. However it was extremely dark, the white light of the bardo was not present.

Though one day prior the white light strobed in and out of existence as I dreamed I smoked some DMT and was admist a psychedelic spiral of colors.

That's interesting. I wouldn't base a complete conclusion off of it, but it shows you a piece to a bigger puzzle, and it's an important piece. Keep dreaming

When all things are connected, what is the difference between one thing and another?

Yeah, you have to sever your connection to anything in order to have a connection to everything. If that doesn't make sense it's probably because it doesn't

It's a state of non-discrimination between everything. I guess.

This dream seemed more like it was foretelling my trip the next day though.... what with me trying to get a hold of reality but having it still fall apart.

That dream means you have stepped into Chapel Perilous. I.E. begun the journey of self discovery. Usually psychedelics iniate one, but you seemed to get a metaphorical dream. It has shown you that you are no longer supported, that you are in flux, limbo. Enjoy the ride, and remember to learn. Remember to reflect constantly on both sides of whatever idea you encounter. Both are important, not one or the other.

What makes you so certain, have you gone through the same?

It directly corresponds to something that happened a few days later when getting extremely high, and I do not disagree with your interpretations, but I'm wondering what knowledge gives you such authority to make those interpretations?

Know that whatever I say is not absolute. You are only putting that much into it. I only propose what I seem to gather through my own life experiences. Plus I like to be a little dramatic, sheesh. Is this Physical and Mental Health?

And the thing I speak of. Look into Robert Anton Wilson and further the Principia Discordia, that is if you would put a grain of salt into what I said. That is all I put into it, not some authority complex.

Again, the only knowledge I go by is direct inner knowledge. You seem to be stepping into the unknown. You know what I mean, the hero's journey? Does that not make direct sense to you, stepping past the threshold? Loosing footing. They are one in the same. I see you on the shaman's path, but who knows. Again, absolutes never prevail. Those who hold strong only lose their grip quicker, you know the whole using energy quicker because you hold stronger, i.e. expend more.

And yeah, I guess I am still in the same place, and have gone through some experiences. My explorations are long and deep. I intend to make this life a fruitful one.

I didn't mean for you to interpret it like that... it's just that you seemed to know what you were talking about in a specific way and I wanted to know why/how/etc.

Yes it makes sense to me.

Remember that old saying, "Knowing others is wisdom, knowing thyself is enlightenment"...

Can't remember where that came from..but it certainly rings true to those that are on the path to enlightenment.

I think it quite simply shows that you have grasped or ungrasped the spaciousness of the mind. And let go. Which is good because it shows the true status of the nature of things as you can't hold on, and space or spacetime as it's more correct to say is a controller like karma and not amenable to conceit.
