Mushroom Enlightenment

I feel that my mind has been enlightened to a higher level of deep thinking ever since I did Psilocybin mushrooms. When I do adderals, a drug that is supposed to make you smarter and more focused makes me dumb, but that "dumb" could be described as the level of deep thinking my brain could do pre-tripping on shrooms. Thoughts?

Adderall isnt supposed to make you smarter, its supposed to help you focus on one task at a time. Slightly different things.
Try doing a bunch of accounting homework while on mushrooms, and then try doing it on Adderall, or finishing a report, or doing math, or writing an essay.
Mushrooms expand your mind and you can think/approach things in different ways that you wouldnt otherwise. Adderall and other substances like that focus the mind onto one subject at hand.
I dont really know anyone that thinks Adderall or meth or anything like that is 'mind expanding'

True, amphetamine certainly doesn't make you more intelligent. You may find it easier to apply your intelligence to a task though, so you can certainly *feel* more intelligent, and your actions might even reflect it.
The downside? It's a crutch. Getting your mind to work at full capacity (or as close as you were before) once you're off it is much much harder. It knocks your efficency up to 110%, but you feel like you're doing 80 once it wears off.

I think Leary called tripping "philosophizing without concepts". it's an awareness of a deeper nature of our reality. I tend to believe that this is a big part of tripping. The key is to be able to apply your understanding to concepts that can be internalized and communicated. While you cannot communicate the experience itself, you can begin to communicate its implications. Honest, dedicated, and careful use of psychedelics can truly expand your understanding and will to understand of reality, and you become more intelligent. But, I couldn't sit down and write an essay while tripping, just as I couldn't imagine egolessness or a state of pure freedom when I'm straight. Psychedelics give you an amazing state of awareness and intelligence, and its your job to make these realizations stick.
