hey a long time ago i made myself a guide to making cakes based on research i had done at this website. Since then common wisdom could have altered the basic cake construction and I was wondering if what i have is still the concencus for a good cake:
1/2 cup verm 1/4 cup water 1/4 BRF
the reason I don't tend to check FAQ's is because they are often old. is this the right mixxxxx thankx u

1/8 cup of brown rice powder 1/2 - 2/3 cup of vermiculite 40-45 cc's (milliliters) of water or (a little less than 1/4 cup) (1&1/2 ounces) (3 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon)
Maximum fruiting formula: 1/4 cup of brown rice powder 1/2 cup of vermiculite 60 cc's water

Demented, are u saying the top mix will colonize faster and the bottom will fruit better? nice to see people still use the 2nd ratio
Newguy, i already had checked them years ago, hence my knowledge of the correct cake mixture (: i'm about 90% sure they didn't change since i last looked, i come from overgrow and there you would find many many conflicting entries in the faq (og's faq was built by so many peeps) and u would find advice which was outdated and no longer really followed, but i do agree about the importance of the FAQ

dmcheatw has it right. That is the original PF formula. Don't mess with perfection!
2 parts verm : 1 part BRF : 1 part h2o (by volume)

I agree. 1/8 cup of BRF is less nutrients, which means less mushrooms. Stick with the 2:1:1 ratio

I found the recipe in the faq. I do the "maximum fruiting formula"

ahh yes roadkill, i find that splenda is better than sugar for cake making though
well i went to lowes, (who said they had verm), home depot, and another garden store and nobody has vermiculute so does anyone know of something you can sub in the cake mix for vermiculite?
i already inoculated my grain jars, but i wanna make about 10 cakes myself with the other syringe i have since i know cakes work and i can just used them to colonize other things
newguy, yeah it really is a shame what happened to og, some people are saying it will be back up soon though, there is a lot of speculation on the different cannabis msg boards about what really happened but regardless i just hope someone had all thoes guides backed up cause as u said there was great info on that site
regardless i hope shroomeries servers are located in the dam or somewhere similar and that they also do not log IP addresses and finally that they back up their database everyonce in awhile to avoide a catastrophic data loss
