at what point do i stop patching? the tray has been in the FC for 2 days and the white spots poking through are still very random. should i keep patching til i'm getting an even distribution of myc poking through??

Personally, I never patch more than once or twice. After that, just let it grow. Try to get the casing layer as even as possible when it's first applied. A sheet of wax paper layed loosely over the top of the casing layer will help to stimulate a nice, even pinset. RR

Ditto here, read my pinning strategy to learn more about why we patch redheadTony. Theres much more info about the pinning process there too to help you out.

On my first casing I patched once then put into the FC (using 60/40). I continued to patch one or 2 more times once in there and regardless I got 100% overlay. I think high humidity causes excess mycelium growth.

I myself never patch. When the myc pokes threw the casing layer in a few spots it goes in the fruiting chamber. Seems to work.
