I couldn't resist smoking weed when I had the flu.
Go to the Pharmacy and get Mucinex if you have a very dry cough. It's like 20 bucks for 12 pills, but it did wonders for me. It loosens the mucus that's forming in your lungs and shit so that your cough becomes more wet and productive, I swore by it when I had the flu last month.

When i was at the peak of my sickness from the flu, I had a company deliver harold and Kumar go to White Castle to my doorstep, ordered pot delivery as well, and took bonghits.

I had a really bad case of the flu a few years ago. I felt like I seriously was near death. I had tried lots of otc and prescriptions but nothing would get rid of it. There was an extreme pain in my body to where it felt like I had been beat down, run over, and all of my bones were broken. I remember losing my mind because my body hurt so bad, I couldn't sleep, no matter how I sat or laid I still felt like shit. I ended up having to take somewhat extreme measures to take the pain away, self medicating myself with high opiate doses and stimulants (which actually calm me down). Anyways, I hope you don't get it that bad. Cough syrup, sore throat spray, grapefruit juice, cough drops, etc. should help. Also be sure to be well rested and careful not to spread it to your family/friends

Nah, I'm sitting at work and eating lunch. I bought some dank nugs last night though! Dealer girl came and hung out for a while, I helped her to a bonghit and she returned the favor. I always offer the delivery dealers to sit down and take a load off, I gave her a Magic Hat #9 and we talked for a while.
I'm gonna smoke my head off tonight.

hey grapefruit juice! I think I have some of that. =]
that sounds like a pretty off the wall flu you had. I really hope this one doesn't get anywhere near that bad. right now I just can't breathe, my body feels like I slept on the bare mountainside for the last week, etc etc. I don't want to go on noticing the symptoms or I'll be way too consciously aware of each individual one. hah.
I think I already gave the flu to that girl that I smoked up yesterday, hehe.

nice.
I always ask dealers (but yeah, only if they just delivered to me) if they have time to sit down and let me load a bowl. I like doing it, and it gives them a reason to trust & get to know me.

Yup, and you figure maybe they'll give you a more generous count some other time. It's important to have a good relationship with your dealer.
This one is real cool, she's one of the runners for this delivery service and a total bulldyke lesbian badass.

That is a good way of thinking, as the severity of the whole thing can depend on how much one dwells individual symptoms. My problem was that I let it get to me mentally too much, which caused me to develop all kinds of anxious/nervous feelings. Smoking cigs or anything else was painful but if you can put your mind over the matter, it is nothing.

I'm trying to smoke a maxium of three cigarettes per day while I'm sick. Yesterday was two.
I suppose that is a good way of thinking. I never really thought about it. I think that's why pot helps me so.. I don't concentrate on the pains and aches, I just relax.

Smoking some weed or doing stuff you like is a good way to keep your mind occupied and off of it though.
I remember using some chew and dip to replace the cigs for a while. It let my lungs clear up and feel so much better temporarily. Not that i would suggest doing that, it can become a worse habit than the smoking in time. I was even addicted to that stuff for about two years and somehow I ended back up smoking.

I've never chewed, and I don't plan on starting. I'm sure that does help throat pains, though.. just grosses me is all. my chances of throwing up would skyrocket if I tried that while sick. haha.
My throat tastes terrible.

I used to get terribly bad ear infections as a kid. So I have a stockpile of amoxicillin (sp?) pills. Whenever I even get the hint of symptoms beginning I down a pill or two. I haven't had a full blown case of the flu in years. Now I don't know if the pills still work, because some of them are pretty old, or is it acting as a placebo?
Who knows, but I'm glad I don't get sick. Shit, I haven't even been to the doctor in 6-7 years, and that was for a horrible in-grown toenail.

you think a flu is bad?
I have a doctor and a psychatrist who beleive that I show signs of introversion and psychosis. Every week I have to meet with the psychatrist and by the end of the month they will have decided if I belong in the loony bin or not.
edit: actually, I doubt they would lock me up

That can be bad too, I have spent some time in the loony bin when I was a minor. But having mental and physical problems at the same time sucks.

It is a long story, basically my parents wanted me to see a psychiatrist. I had some depression and anxiety issues. Anyways it was effecting my school to where I didn't want to show up, so the doctor had the authority to put me into the mental hospital for a while . This happened some time ago, I am in my 20s now.
