Hey guys
I hope you recall that i posted last week about some amanita virosa that I had purchased but I got ripped off by that guy. In any case, I was hoping someone would be kind enough to donate some samples.... of a macrofungus. Basically I am looking for is a fungus to identify it's basidia, spores, cystidia and possibly mycelia. I would greatly appreciate it. I would be happy to pay for shipping or any other costs.
thanks

Are you looking for just any species of mushroom?
How should anybody contact you?
How should the mushroom(s) be preserved? Is dried OK?
(Not that I have dried mushrooms to send, but those are obvious questions you should answer that will help you get a useful response)
Happy mushrooming!

If you are looking for just any species, then go to an Asian food store and buy some dried shiitake.

I was kind of wondering about your post requesting some virosa specimens. You mentioned that you needed them for a school project or something. How would your professor know if they really were virosa or not? I mean even if you were able to obtain some dried specimens, I would imagine that it would be very difficult to know if they really are virosa or not. Would they really question your credibility and spend the time and resources to confirm or deny them being real or not? it is probably not even possible if the specimens were dry. So why not just bring in some other whitish dried mushroom specimens and just say for the sake of passing or whatever, that they are virosa? As far as this post goes can you use some kind of common mushroom? Agaricus bisporus or something? Do you need some kind of specific species, genus, etc?

Hey guys
sorry it took me so long to reply.
Yeah, I am looking for any sample I can use to identify its cystidia, basidia, spores. i need a microscope for this.
anyway, shitake won't work, the assignment says to avoid all commerically farmed mushrooms. this is to avoid just goign to the grocery store and buying fungi.
secondly, i can't just say it's virosa given the fact that my professor is amazing at fungal systematics . I can't just claim something to be amanita without showeing the the volva and the annulus. i hope that's clear.
Ideally I would prefer amanita virosa but it appears to be impossible to find.
I would like amanita rubescens, that would work. how would you like to arrange this. PM me or email me at yusef.alaki@gmail.com
thanks
