That kind of reminds me of these other sculptures I saw a few years ago... the artist took photographs of faces, and then distorted them in photoshop, like stretching them out and stuff.
Then he made really big, and very realistic sculptures of the photoshopped version of the faces. I wish I could remember the guy's name, they were crazy.
