Help me install folding at home at my local library

Hey guys,
First up, I understand that installing folding at home on computers you don't own isn't endorsed by the f@h project or the shroomery. Treat this as hypothetical.
Anyways, my local library has a bunch of 3gHz pentium 4 computers. They're on all day, and used for nothing but internet browsing and word processing. What a waste!
The computers run XP pro.
When I log into the computers there, I have full root access. I can edit system files, I have write access to all local drives, I can edit the registry and I can make changes in the control panel. The full extent of the security system is that there's no "My Computer" icon and you can't run task manager by pressing ctrl alt del. Using the run command, getting round such restrictions is of course trivial.
Anyway, when I've logged in, I can install F@H from my USB key. It connects to the server once I've configured it with the proxy settings copied from internet explorer.
However, there are two problems that I can't explain, and that it would great to get help with.
i) I'm trying to install the text console to run as a service. Once installed, it appears properly, and the f@h service appears when I run services.msc. However, when I open the text console, while it connects and downloads properly, it displays a message saying the the downloaded files are corrupt or haven't passed some kind of validity test, and downloads them over and over again (perhaps because I haven't yet restarted?)
ii) When I log out and log in again, all the changes I've made are gone. Any files I create in local directories, the f@h service, everything. I have _no_ idea how this happens. When I'm logged in, I can make real changes to all local files. I can execute files I put onto disk. The local hard disk has around 10gBs of data on it, so I don't see how it could be restored from a standard disk image stored on a network server in such a short time. There's almost no delay in logging out and in again, the whole things takes maybe thirty seconds.
Any ideas guys? I'd love to help out the shroomery f@h team some more
thanks

because all the tech-support staff are off-site, and only come in if they're called in because the computers aren't working
I asked the librarian if the computers ran any kind of distributed computing programs, and she looked at me blankly and said that tech support handled all that kind of thing
I'll investigate what software the computers run, I'm not going to resort to breaking a computer just so I can talk to some of the IT staff :P

well I'm pretty certain that it's Deep Freeze (or something like it) that reverts it.
as far as corrupt data, not sure.

Hrmmmm
are there any workarounds to such protection software that wouldn't require serious messing with the PCs?
I might write a letter to my local library board instead

Another thing to remember is that libraries don't usually have (or need) fast PCs. Any CPU without SSE (pre-P3) will take so long to finish work units it's not even worth it.
Anyway you can probably forget about doing a stealth-install on any properly-secured system. Obtaining permission is the way to go. If that doesn't work you could fall back on a tool like the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor. But there's usually a little more to it than just changing the NT password, logging in as admin, installing F@H and being on your way.
Good luck!
