This post has nothing to do with shrooms but I feel the need to type this out...Hatred...with all the hate going on in this world and we sit and do nothing, muslims rioting over a picture, skin heads killing a baby, war in iraq, Let me just say I have nothing against islam or muslims at that matter, but do you see chritians or jews rioting and killing people from the cartoons of brash remarks from the mulsim community ( and yes they have been doing it) no! I joined the navy in 01 because I was broke and needed money for school, little did I know I would become a corpsman (medic) and be shipped off with the marines to war. When I was out there we came across a iraq training camp, do you know what they were shooting at....they made targets representing americans with a christianity star on thier foreheads....hatred...hatred we are all humans, we bleed the same, get sick the same...black, white, yellow, brown...all human. martin luther king jr. said we are all create equal..he was right..but he didn't mention that we are all very different also. That is the beauty of the world...difference.. and is where hatred should stop is by respecting our differences, just because I do something a certain way doesn't mean you have to. Respect for the different. Thank you for whoever reads this and may we stop the hate one person at a time. Thank you peace out and keep growing, I know I will oh yeah I apologize if I use bad grammer or spelling I'm sorta out of it if you know what I mean

i often times why we're caught in the middle of the world that is killing itself.
i also wonder if the muslims are really as bad as it seems.... i just can't really see them rioting over a cartoon... it seems staged to me.
I don't know. Islam seems like a wonderful religion to me, it's the oppressive governments they live in that has soiled the religion, just like America has soiled Christianity.
Why aren't Christians killing over cartoons? Because they have SUVs, stable jobs, lots of food, and nothing to really be too upset about.
We're lucky to be able to 1) realize that the world is full of hate 2) have the ability to not partake in said hate.
but are we going to be "punished" for all of humanity? How will things get better?

what are you talking about. Mohammed's wife was fairly rich and in her 30s when he married her, and he was quite the feminists in his time.
Quote:
Khadija (Arabic: خديجه ) was the first wife of the Prophet Muhammad. Khadija al-Kubra, the daughter of Khuwaylid ibn (son of) Asad ibn Abdul-`Uzza ibn Qusayy, belonged to the clan of Banu Hashim of the tribe of Banu Asad. She became the first woman to convert to Islam, the new religion Muhammad had begun to preach.
After her first husband Hala al-Taminia died, she married Otayyik. When he also died, she was approximately 40 years old and proposed the idea of marriage to the 25 years old Muhammad. She married him in the year 595.

okay 40s....
what the hell are you talking about man?

The reason Muslims are over-reacting is because there is a lot of extreme ideologies in the Middle East and parts of Asia....and they have a lot to be pissed off about (not just the cartoon), Denmark just happened to be in the right place at the right time...it became an outlet for all of those people.
all those tv networks and newspapers that reprinted the cartoons are fucking cock snugglers.
there is a cartoonist for Toronto Star who drew a monkey reading the Qur'an upside down. This was supposed to represent the Taliban...now thats awesome cartooning ....drawing prophets with bombs as turbans is pushing it too far.

Muslims are angry about the picture for the simple reason that its a major sin in Islam to depict mohammad or allah in a picture because it promotes idolatry.

That's kinda hypocritical of them, IMO... considering the images they make of everyones else's gods. I don't think they're ever going to live in peace with anyone because the Qur'an tells them that everyone who isn't muslim is the infidel and could potentially be out to get them, therefore justifying cleansing the world of anyone who disagrees. I know there's a lot of peaceful muslims out there who say that that isn't the case, but their just playing the "PR" games to avoid getting slammed themselves.
Not that Christianity is much better, but they aren't out enacting another version of the crusades with the Vatican cheering on the bloodshed........YET.
IMO, religion is a crutch for people too lazy to think for themselves...

Most muslims really are just normal people living their lives. But "Hoards of Muslims come home from work, have dinner and go to sleep!" doesn't make for a very interesting headline.
It's really all about leaders being able to push a group of people to extreme hatred. Their economies are held up entirely by oil, much of which is owned by foreigners. They're impoverished, and their countries are being used by foreign companies that will just abandon an area when the oil runs out, when your economy is based on a single resource, you've got to be a little nervous.
In Germany in the 30's, the economy was terrible, and this was partly because the allies had restricted their ability to profit and run their country freely. But Hitler was able to take underlying anti-semitism and exploit it to his advantage. He organized a large amount of seemingly civilized people to single out the Jews and use horrendous violence against them. Same thing is happening in the middle east, leaders there are exploiting an already existing resentment for the west, and blowing it up out of proportion, inciting tremendous rage and violence.
They aren't a more violent or evil people than anyone else, and neither were the Germans. However, their economy and political situations aren't great, and there are some charismatic leaders who are able to manipulate people and incite them to do some crazy things.
Most of the rioters haven't even seen the cartoon. They've been riled up by people telling them that the west is insulting and mocking Mohammed.

That's bullshit. The bible is filled with plenty of paranoid and hateful shit, and clearly many Christians overlook those segments and interpret the book in a peaceful manner.
Many muslims do the same, millions of them in fact.
How did you get the information that they all secretly believe this and just lie about being peaceful for PR purposes? Did you conduct surveys? Did you live in a muslim country, talking with the people to try and get a good sense of the attitudes?
Or did you just assume based on the images you see on the news?

No, it isnt a sin, just a tradition that was practiced after Mohammeds death. It isnt said in the Qu'ran not to depict the prophets (only not to depict god), but depicting any prophet has become extremely taboo

I hate to post three times in a row, but I'm about 95 percent sure that in the Quran when it says to rid yourself of all anti-Islamic ideals, it meant in ones self , that one had to cleanse himself of Anti Islamic ideals inside his or her self in order to become closer to god.
Not completely sure though
