Too much spores?
    #5279028 - 02/08/06 07:45 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

I am using 1/2 pint jars and most sites suggest to only use 1cc total. I have heard that the more you add the faster the shrooms will colonize. How much is too much? I have several syringes to spare but I would rather not waste any. I wouldn't mind knocking at least a week off the process through.

Too much spore solution will mess with you water ratio/content. So if you want to use more solution purposely leave you substrate a little more dry than usual. An it wont knock a week off. If you want faster colonization research Liquid Cultures and Grain spawn.

Yes more spores can equal faster colonizing time. But it is a waist of time, and yes if you don't compensate for the moister content you would throw it off, meaning slower colonize time.

LC is your best bet, but patience would would get you further.
