Using Quinoa...

i really want to do some experimenting with Quinoa. i have no idea how you would use it/add it to a substrate. i read the Alien Tek, but i don't wanna go that whole route yet.
i just know it contains tryptamines and that is a good enough reason to add it to your Sub.
anyone use it in addition to PF brf jars? what about with rye or with WBS and some xtra verm?
does anyone USE the Alien Tek much? i dont wanna spend a shitload of $$ on sub's anymore, but if you have a cheap BULK SUB, it couldn't hurt to add in some goodies...

yeah, yeah. like i said, CHEAP SUBSTRATE is awesome. WBS/GRAINS/POO... i know.
but i don't plan on growing the primo headstash the SAME way i grow my bulk.
catch my drift???
and thanks for the info, everyone else. grinding seems most logical. any rule-of-thumbs on brf/quinoa flour ratio???
i'm not worried about spending a lil xtra jack for a box of jars worth of primo sub if it's gonna give the headies a lil extra "oomph"

Ah well, since you're experimenting for increased potency, you might as well take into consideration bloodmeal, kelp meal, seaweed extract, worm castings and anything else I may have left out. Perhaps you're heading in the right direction, maybe quinoa can offer the boost in potency without the threat of too much nitrogen.
I didn't mean to discredit your experiment or anything, I was just letting my own personal beliefs about it's price flow without censoring my thoughts.

I replaced half the BRF with Quinoa in my pf-tek grow. Two of the four cakes that I fruited, can be seen in my sig pic below. The other 8 cakes I spawned to 10lbs of h/poo.
I was told the poo shrooms potency was approximately 70%-100% stronger than that of regular pf-tek. However, I WAS NOT told how much of a potency increase to expect with my Quinoa mix.
To make a long story short.... I took 6.8g of my dry pf/quinoa-tek shrooms and was hit significantly HARDER than the 7.2g of my dry poo shrooms W/LEMON JUICE.
There are many factors that can affect how hard mushrooms hit you, besides the strength of the mushrooms themselves. Even though I swear the circumstances were identical, there may have been some factor that I haven't accounted for.
Also, Quinoa is not expensive...at least not in my area. For less than 4 dollars I bought enough to make 18+ jars,(half the brf replaced).
Hope that helps some.

nice.
i'm gonna try making a dozen PF jars like this:
for each 1/2 pint jar-
1/8 cup brf 1/8 cup quinoa flour 1/2 cup chunky verm 1 tsp. flaxseed meal 55+ cc spring water
might even try making half the jars w/ poo water from pasteurizing.
prolly be a week or so till i get around to it, but i'll let ya know how it goes on down the road.

When using Quinoa with Rye... or Quinoa as a grain on its own. What is the quinoa to water ratio? How much water can the quinoa take up? anyone know?
