1st E experience (follow up)
    #5276594 - 02/08/06 09:02 AM (17 years, 11 months ago)

Hey this is a follow up to my post containing a lot of questions about E.

So yesterday I decided to take E and I really learned a lot about how ugly human nature could be.

I popped the pill at around 2:40 and I got into the city around 4:00 it felt good but not great. I was saying to myself "I don't understand what the big deal is".

I meet up with my girlfriend and her two friends and we start walking down the street and suddenly I feel it. It felt like my head was a balloon and someone was trying to inflate it. All of a sudden I feel wonderful! We go into a few stores and then try and get into Museum of Modern Art but it was closed, so we walked around for a bit until we came across this poor homeless woman.

This woman was completely naked except for a black garbage bag she was sitting in. It was about 30 somewhat degrees out and she had nothing. My heart broke for this woman, I wanted to help her so badly.

We all stop and empty our pockets and give her about 30 dollars a shirt/sweatshirt and a scarf and as were doing this some woman in a mink coat begins to yell at us... "Don't help her! She has a huge apartment right near by here! Shes a fake! I'm going to call the post and let them know about her!

I can tell you just be looking at this woman... she was not faking it. I was so disgusted by this woman I wanted to cry, I wasn't mad I just couldn't understand how someone could say that. I was about to say something but my girlfriend screamed at the woman "I'd rather her have a place to go and take the money, I wish she had somewhere to go!" something like that.

So we left and I could not get the two women out of my head the poor woman sitting there freezing and the rich snob with her fur coat.
So we left and walked into FAO Schwartz. The 4 of us were there for about a half hour before my gf's friends had to go. I couldn't get the two women out of my head for a good 30-40 minutes. About 20 minutes after they left I found out one of her friends called his father and he was able to get the woman to a nearby shelter . That made me feel a lot better.
After that I just walked around telling my gf I loved her for about and hour or so. It was an amazing experience and I definitely learned a lot from E. It definitely has a purpose and I still feel great!

Obviously, you know I'm against E, so naturally I'll be the first to question your experience.  First and foremost, I'm glad you had a safe and enjoyable time

And not to be a downer, or a thread hijacker or anything, but to add to discussion of E (just for you, Animals): what exactly was it about that experience that was so amazing for you?  I don't see how any of that was altered (positively or negatively) by the E.  You know you love your girl fiend, right?  Tell her that without the drug.

Still say it isn't worth the shot unless you know 100% sure you have pure MDMA.

I understand, it was nice to feel compassion for other people, I felt like a genuine caring person (which normally I'm not). It was a very positive experience, if nothing else to be able to help that woman was well worth it.

Also I did it for the experience, sheer curiosity.

I really enjoyed it, I think I'd like to give it one more try but I'd rather not be the only person on it.

I dunno, I guess I just have different uses for substances. I would try to take the compassion that you felt and apply it to your everyday life. Don't rely on E to feel compassionate about people and life; try to learn from the experience and replicate it sober ...

but glad you had fun.

Just wondering: what is so bad about simply having 'fun' on/with a drug? While I will agree - abuse of drugs, ANY drug is a bad thing.

However, I do feel that you can recreationally use drugs without abusing drugs. So what if *most* MDMA use is just rolling, dancing and having a good time ? is there not benefit in a good time in and of itself?

It?s a way to relax, unwind, have fun and a good time. Is having fun for the sake of having fun so bad? Does there always need to be a deeper and more significant meaning behind it?

?You know you love your girl fiend, right? Tell her that without the drug.?

I always hear people say ?Oh, you shouldn?t need a drug to say I love you, or you shouldn?t need a drug to feel empathy towards others, and you shouldn?t need a drug to realize that you care? in reference to MDMA and in trying to decry its use.

You could use the same arguments against the use of mushroom and LSD for self exploration, hell ? I?ve had people tell me ?Oh, you shouldn?t need to do mushrooms to reflect on your life?. No, you don?t NEED the substance to do that , however the substance can let you approach them in ways that you may not of been willing to before ? it can knock down conscious and subconscious barriers that prevent you, and it can also help you experience in new and profound ways of which you may not of been able to otherwise.

Likewise, MDMA can break down those barriers that people put up that prevent them from being able to explore, express and feel a certain range of emotions. And, as with any drug, you can leave it as ?oh, its just the drugs making me do that? ? or, allowing those things in those states to carry over into every day sober life.

I?ve noticed since my MDMA use, I am more sympathetic, I also experience a wider range of emotions then I used to before using it. I don?t need the MDMA for that now, but the MDMA use was a catalyst towards getting there, and to be 100% dead honest : Every time I have done MDMA, it has been for a party, a good time, 100% pure and simple recreational use.

Its never been ?Oh, I want to feel empathy for fellow man?, its ?I want to dance until the sun rises, I?m already having a fun time ? I want to add something extra?

Mind you, through this recreational use, there has been aspects and changes of a result of it, that have carried over into my ?sober life? just because that?s the way the world works.

Now, there is a line between recreational use, and abuse. This line may be different for many people. But for me, I /always/ limited to MDMA to weekends only, at a club/party and never did it ?just because?.

When you start having people rolling at school, rolling at work, rolling ?just because?, rolling a few times a week, and starting to let it damage and interfere with their normal lives ? that is abuse. However, this is a problem that is not MDMA specific, and can apply to ANY drug ? including psychedelics.

And, as with ANYTHING we put into our bodies ? there are some good sides, and some bad sides to it. Drinking is bad for us, but people do it daily. Smoking is bad for us, but people do it daily. Eating a double-cheeseburger with biggie sized fries is bad for us ? but people still do it. Hell, breathing the air in Toronto is bad for us, but its something I need to do :P

With MDMA ? yes, there are some ?bad? effects to it, and some health risks, it?s a matter of the person doing it deciding ?are these potential negative effects and risk factors, worth the fun/and/or benefit I get from this substance?? - for some people its no, for others it is yes.

MDMA does have use beyond recreational fun ? however, even when simply left at ?a fun good time? ? I don?t see what is so wrong with that, as long as you are being responsible in the use, being smart about it and doing things for harm reduction, and don?t begin to abuse the drug.

my best friend died on E. im scared shitless of it. i always stick to acid, even though its not much better for you. its just a better experience. ii have another friend though, who said they only got a slight buzz off of it, which leaves me puzzled. how could this be?

buzz off of LSD, or E?

and, how did he die on E? was it really MDMA - or one of the very unlucky that did a 'double stack mitsubishi' which was really PMA (and rather lethal)

I don't know if you'd consider that to be a good trip or not, but I think I would. I'm the same way. Usually somewhat unfeeling, uncompassionate, and it's something I'd like to change. And things were better for a long time after I did E, but recent life pressure has put me back into a Dickhead mode and I don't like it.

Next time, it is CRUCIAL that you try rolling with someone else on E. Roll with them, and try not to have any outside influences. Just think and talk and you will be amazed.

I disagree with alot of these posts. I for one, have used the drug quite a few times. I like it. It helps me open up.
