Shatner is so god damned annoying.
He can be funny, but when he tries to be serious it makes me want to beat him over the head with a 10 pound halibut.

I had heard the song, but never seen the video. I thought it was great. As far as Shatner goes, I think he's totally awesome. Not his singing, of course, but his acting style, or should I say OVERACTING style. He portrays his characters flawlessly. He's currently playing his best role ever as "Denny Crane" in Boston Legal. He and James Spader have such a great rapport, both as their characters and as actors, it's mezmorizing. And the show is SO FAR OFF THE WALL it's hilarious. Every episode ends with Shatner & Spader on the balcony of the office building, smoking cigars and drinking scotch. Once, Alan Shore (Spader) comes out and says, "Didn't see much of you in this episode." I nearly fell outa my chair.

I watched boston legal last night.
I agree, shatner is a very amusing actor.
I just pray I never have to see him play a somber role, it probably wouldn't end well. He's only really fit to a non-serious or semi-serious part.

I agree. That's probably why he's never played a really serious role.
Well, actually, he has. T.J. Hooker. I never watched it though.

I was Ben Folds live at a small club in LA. For the encore, Shatner came out and read a bunch of spoken word poetry over an big ensemble (Ben Folds played drums). It was one of the best things I've ever seen. I wasn't a fan of shatner until I saw that. He's fucking cool i tell you!
