Need Nesco (and general) Food Dehydrator Advice

Hey all! I'm thinking of getting a Nesco food dehydrator, (because someone recommended this brand), and would like some advice. They advertise a heat setting of 95?F as the lowest. Will this temperature cause any loss of potency, or any other problems? Can I use this device "as is"? If the heating element is disconnected, will this item do a good job of dehydration? How would one go about disconnecting the heating element? Is it on it's own circuit, or does it need to be by-passed? Does anyone know of a thread, or another site with instructions on disabling the heating element of food dehydrators? My search of the Shroomery didn't turn up anything specific. TIA!

Mushrooms grow in 95 degree heat all the time, so it is doubtful that this will cause much potency loss, theoretically. Whether or not the dehydrator actually operates at 95 degrees is questionable. Check with a thermometer if you can.
You can probably install a switch to bypass the heating element as desired. If your next question is "how," then you should probably have someone who is electrically knowledgable wire it.

No need to disable the heating device with the Nesco. Mine have all turned out fine-- potent as all get-out.

Yeah I have one and been running the hell out of it.
You don't want to do anything to it, don't mess with it no reason.
I don't know the the numbers but you have nothing to worry about up to 200.
I throw it a little higher for the big one.
Place it on a timer, forget about it, dry them cracker dry.
