humidifier positioning

I'm using a cool mist that pipes directly into a tub. As long as the humidity is optimal and no water is dripping inside the tub, is it more efficent to have the humidifier above or below the tub??

Im not really sure it should make a difference where the humidifier is, I mean I suppose if you were to put the humidifier above gravity would make the cool mist move easier, but the advantage of this would be marginal at best. Of course, thats only if Im understanding what your asking correctly, and that is about the electrical efficiency of the cool mist humidifier.

The humidifier should probably go below the tub. Excess water will condense on the hose or pipe you're using to move the humidity in. If you put the humidifer above, the condensation within the hose will drain into the tub. If you put the humidifier below, the condensation will drain back into the reservoir.

ok i'm testing the setup right now and i have the humidifier about a foot below the tub. the tube is about 4' long. i'm getting 67% humidity. If i pipe an additional hole in the humidifier to the tub, would this raise the humidity, or would it reduce the flow of each tube?

uhh well, it would decrease the the flow of each tube, but it would spread out where the flow was coming from so, Im not sure it would matter... I mean you could try it then if it turns out to be worse, just plug up the hole...
