Moose Poop Psilocybe!!

I was at a local museum the other day and there was a jar of dried moose poop on display. I picked it up and looked inside and I noticed a little mushroom growing out the side of one of the turds. It looked like a cube, there was also some mycelium growing on the poo. Has anyone heard of mushies on moose poo? How far north do dung lovers grow? I want to start an expedition to find the moose poop psilocybe, and make a print. Any opinions on growing with moose poop?

Why would they have a jar of dried moose poop at a museum? Was it like acient poo or something? There is a method to preserve scat for display. I think you can coate it in some kind of spray on epoxy. I have once seen a dried cow patty done this way. It was also enclosed in a glass case on red felt with a brass plaque that said. "A reminder for all of you that were once poor farm boys, looking for a fresh pile to warm your bare feet when milking the cows on a cold morning." Weird, eh?

I'm wondering the same thing. Also, museums are usually pretty anal about how they display things so as to not have people touching them. I can't see them just leaving a jar of something out for anyone to just finger fuck.

hmm, what do you think the the composition of moose poo is, and would it support mushies? I mean, what is it like grass, leaves and... idk, bark? idk, might be an interesting experiment tho... somebody grab some moose poo and squirt it full of cube spores, lol.

At Natrual bridge caverns in san antonio, there is a stalagmite in the walway that people can touch while on the tour to show how out touch can infect the formations. It looks like a big doo doo column while the others are pretty and white and yellow.

The museum was a children's museum, the poop was in a small plastic jar so you could pick it up and look at it. It is kind of a weird thing to display, I guess kids can ID moose poop in the wild now.

Well then find a kid to identify some moose poop so we can try growing on it.

I say you get your own pile of moose poop, then go back to the museum and do a quick swap-a-roo.

if you were to do that, you'd better do it quick, because that mushie will be fully mature and start to rot in no time.
::EDIT:: well this was rather anti-climatic... I just realized this was my 400th post.

"Many plants are eaten by moose...prefered trees are willows, trembling aspen, striped maple, white birch,..."
They mainly eat the tips off of juvenile trees, I've also seen them wading into ponds to eat the plant life.
Are these digested plants capable of supporting psilocybes?
This summer I'm gonna do a massive moose poo collection and I'll let y'all know how it goes.

How long would it take to add up to enough to actually grow a dose of mushrooms? You'd have to start a mouse army. You'd better call the Pied Piper and ask him to bring his magic flute.

Yes Moose poo will work...
as will Deer and Elk poo also.
Just spawn some colonized substrate into some pasturized Moose poo and you should be good to go!~
