Imagine you invented something that everyone is gonna want it, like its to become massive and everyone will want it. But to build the first one you'd need a large budget of myabe few 100,000s $ or even more. Where would you get this kind of money, and is it even possible to copyright the idea from the start?

Sell the rights to it for $250,000/obo.
Or try and find an investor.

yes, find investors
but first make detailed plans on paper and copyright it so those investors don't run away with your idea
I believe copyrighting will give a two or three year patent pending seal to your product....double check that though

In America, do you have to actively copyright things? I was under the impression copyright existed as soon as you created an original work, but that might just be the way things work over here.

All you need is proof that you made the idea frist. one way that low budget writers do this is to mail them slefs a copy of their transcript. This way it gets postmarked by the post office a government agengcy. Leave the package sealed or it will be poitless.

It depends on what it is.
For instance, if it's a device or something similar, you will need to get a patent. You could make a product, and have it on the market for years...but if you don't have the patent for it, then someone could come in and take it. It would suck to make a few million and then all of a sudden you owe a shitload to someone since you didn't patent it. Then you STILL have to pay them if you want to keep making it.
I read a legal book on patents about a year ago, and it said that a lawyer for this purpose will cost about $4000 or so to have everything done. It's possible to do the patent registration on your own, but it will take some learning to do. It would probably only cost about $300-$700 to register on your own. The paperwork is tricky though...it has to be EXTREMELY detailed.
Once you send the registration off and they get it...you will basically be in a patent pending state...unless they tell you otherwise. It's kinda like a protection system where it allows you to get the product out there fast, but shows others that the patent process is underway, and that if they tried to take the idea, they might have to pay up later down the line in court.
Patents are valid for about 18 to 20 years.
Anyways, just patent it first...and then go from there. If it's something hot, then you definitely shouldn't sell it off unless you ask for some killer incentives.

It is a building of all places. A unique a building where everyone will want to hang out in the future. HOWEVER they already built one such building in Maldives and i think theyre building a few in Dubai. Those buildings are far from being perfect but they got the general idea. Do you think it is still possible to patent it no?

There are two types of patents. One is a "utility" patent (ex. a new type of device), and the other is called a "design" patent (artistic designs).
If the building has a special design, then you should be able to patent it under the second one. Small Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_patent
However, if it is functional in some way, then it may go under the first. It just depends, but it would be worth obtaining a patent for either way. Just try and get ahold of a legal self-help book about patents...when or if you actually decide to take the next step.

You are pretty much screwed. Once big business gets wind of your idea they will slightly alter it and use their already existing funds/outlets for distribution to beat you to any potential markets.

I highly recommend you read the book "Web & Software Development: A Legal Guide by Stephen Fishman". It is real good at explaining what copyrights and patents protect, and how to go about getting them. It is targetted towards software, but is a good basis for understanding them overall.
Another means of protection is keeping the information as a trade secret. Its all explained quite well actually.
Even if you lose faith in your current idea, by trying to develop it and learning things like how to protect it legally, you develop the skills needed to invent something else later in life.

Ok what about finding investors? Those few places where they have two such buidlings they are very far from the real thing, i hold the main key features of this and only i know what and how it should be built. Since they already built such things i doubt i could patent it but i can use my know how of ideas to maybe build and co own co run such places and get rich of that. So I got a project in mind, where can i find investor to get finances for doing this?
As i said this is going to be huge and while noone picked it up yet it would be good to actually build a few places myself.
