Do you think it is at all possible to get mushrooms by 4-20? Im growing invitro sytle and scelrotia, the scelrotia probably wont be done for a while but im wondering about the shroomies. I also have a liquid culture media of B+ that might speed things up a bit....
input?

Okay, so what is your current status i.e. how far along are you? Do you have your supplies yet? Is your LC ready? What tek do you plan to follow?
All these questions aside, yeah, you can have mushies by 420, no problem. You can probably have two full harvests by then if you get on the ball.
On a side note, I wouldn't advise growing invitro.. you can get a much better yield out of your substrate if you case it.

Inocculating tommorow or wensday. Im going to be doing PFTEK Invitro...
Liquid culture is ready but im not sure if its safe to use as opposed to a syringe, The liquid culture might not be good. I grabbed a peice from mycelium from outside and put it into my sterile karo, The mycelium is really think in their

from inoculation to finished fruits averages about 30-34 days. If you used an LC you can chop a week or two off that time. So yes, its very realisitc you will have shrooms by 4/20.

Alright, well then I'd advise just using a spore syringe from a shroomery sponsor, so you know it's good'n'sterile. To test the purity of your LC, you could use agar and petri dish to isolate the mycelium from possible contams.

wouldnt the strong mycelium have killed any bacteria?

Not always. It's very possible to have a contam in an LC that looks perfectly normal and not find out till it's too late and you've already inocculated a big batch. That's the worst way to find out. You're going to have some free time on your hands anyways while your PF jars colonize, so you might as well read up on agar. If you decide it's do-able, then go for it, it's definitely a good thing to know how to do.
Oh, and in substrates, it's not really that strong mycelium kill bacteria, but more like once a substrate is fully colonized by the mycelium, the bacteria doesn't have a chance to contaminate any of the substrate. It's like.. it's easier to defend a fort if you and your team have already set up a strong foothold in the fort, as opposed to trying to take the fort at the same time as your opponents.

well i dont see any bacteria competing with the mycelium

Well that's the thing, it's much harder to see contamination in a Liquid Culture than it is on a solid substrate.
How about this, since you have a decent amount of time before you want to have your stockpile, why don't you knock up a small quarter pint jar with the LC to make sure it's clean. If it contams really soon, then the LC is contaminated. If you get nothing but mycelial growth after several weeks, the LC is clean.
You don't have to do this, but it's better to be safe than sorry, ya know?
