hey ...I made a few millet jars but couldn't find pint or anything else SO I used a really big set of jars and went on vacation, they are narrow mouth and have colonized really fast. they are one piece now ...What is the correct way of getting it out w/o Risk of contamination.

if there wide mouth just slap the bottom tell they slide out.
if there not wide mouth youll have to crumble them in the jars and case.

in eather case have your fruting chamber or casing mix ready and get them to there destination as quick as you can. take extra care not to drop them and dont use dirty tools and there should be no problems.

I like to use a sterile (at least clean!) kitchen knife, and break up the substrate into a ziploc.

It's pretty easy to have the knife in the baggie, and slip it over the open jar, making for minimal exposure.

then again, Once colonized the MYC SHOULD be pretty resilient.....

You should be alright with a long, clean knife. Wipe it down with alcohol, then start jabbing the millet to break it up O.J. style. Once it's broken up, you can pour it out and crumble it better with clean hands or gloves on.
