drip system

I'm growing tomatoes so I decided to set up a drip system for sixteen soil pots. The pots are 6" x 5". What I need advice on is the size of the resevoir. The plants are inside a cabinet, so I'd prefer that the res fits inside the cabinet, too, but it doesn't have to. It would also be nice to not have to mess with the resevoir more than once or twice a week, but that isn't a requirement either.
I checked, there is enough space inside the cab for a ~20 gallon rubbermaid tub. If I used this for a res, how often do you guys think i'll have to maintain the setup (like, messing with water levels, changing nutes, etc.)? Excess water will be drained back into the resevoir, btw.
What do you guys think? Should I definitely go with a bigger resevoir or will the rubbermaid tub suffice, since unused water will be drained back in?
Any advice on actually building the system would be appreciated, too, but that seems pretty self explanatory (water pump on a timer through 1/4" tubing and a drip emmiter for each pot, right?)
Thanks!
peace

Nobody has an opinion? lol I guess there is such thing as a stupid question.
Anyway does this make sense:
I mean is that how a drip system is? If there's a better way to do this let me know.

I have personaly never seen a good thing from a drip system. IME soil is much better. If you want to go hydro go DWC or Ebb and Flo.

yeah i have an opinon (on most things ) , a 20 gallon tub should be more than enough. , for 8 plants 20 gallons of water will last a long time and it can last for well 2 weeks I guess (my math could be complete wrong here im kinda drunk but its defently not twice a week). there is many ways to make a drip system , I myself have used a hose with small holes that drip drip drips all the time, but in small amounts so it doesnt drown the plant,. I have used this for Salvia Divenorum among others.

Just a thought on the design... if the pots are going to remain close together like that, wouldn't it make more sense to run one piece of tubing down the middle, rather than going all the way around the edges?

I guess so. Less material, too.
kolizion, I definitely hope to build some aero buckets soon. I guess I could do a bucket w/ a net pot, and just have the sprayer pointed at the pot..
