    #5269171 - 02/06/06 11:50 AM (18 years, 11 months ago)

This is the 6th day since i fruited this casing, it is 8" by 8" and 2" deep with wbs and a thin 50/50 casing layer. Temp is at 71-73 with humidity 93-97. Hows it looking?

Looking good. Could use a higher temperature though, in the high 70's at least. Other than that, looks like youll be getting some magic comming your way soon.

Looks good, but your RH is too high. Cakes need a high RH (95%+), whereas casings only need 80-85%. Drop your humidity asap to help avoid overlay.

You can get away with your 92%, but 97%'s too high. That's part of the reason your myc's not knotting up yet.

Damn straight, you could do with patching that overlay with more casing material, but well done anyways

So you think id be better off with putting a thin layer over just the white and wipe the walls down to lower the humidity, sound good?

Sounds fine
You could even take a bit of perlite out, the humidity only has to be around 85% for fruiting purposes, and yes, patch, keeping the casing layer nicely hydrated - stop spraying once you see hyphal knots/ pinheads.

Ok, since it was overlayed i put another thin casing layer over it 3 days ago here is a picture from today. I see that it has grown onto the new casing layer does this look like it will give a good pin set or does it look like it will overlay again?
