Where do you find jars in the winter? They're seasonal.

I have actually heard of some people using quart rubbermaid containers or something like that. So perhaps you should use the search feature, or wait for more replies.

I've used pickle jars, jelly jars, umm...salsa jars. Man, damn near any glass jar with a lid that seals tight will work. Eat what's in 'em, clean them out real nice, poke a hole in the lid (filter it), and have at it mate. Sometimes you can get the jars cheaper this way than if you buy the actual canning jars.

Yeah, $8 is pretty cheap. Can't compete with that, but this poor guy can't find anything to get him by. Back when I first started, I had the same problem. Sometimes you just gotta make due with what you can find. I just used jars from stuff I already had in my fridge, so I really didn't have to spend any extra on them. Just an idea to get him by 'til canning season. BTW, I'd try to stay away from the $.66 pickles, too. Might give you tha sneaky squirts.

yea, walmart. im there a lot and ive seen them there every time ive been. $8 a dozen. but i do think you could use a rubbermaid just use a lot of tape or some silicon to seal the thing shut.
i read a tek somewhere where the guy didnt use lids, he just put 3 layers of tin foil over them. if this works then walmart also sells some glassware that would serve no other pupose but to make the cakes look cool. just an idea

rubbermaid bowls work ok. just check the recycle number on the bottom. i beleive it has to be like 5.
i've used everything man, use ziplock storage containers, rubbermaid storage containers, save & seal bag, food saver bags, blank cd holder for making huge cakes, drinking glasses with tinfoil on top, there really is no limit but your imagination. just as long as it is ildly heat resistant/microwave safe.

drinking glasses without sholders. otherwise you won'yt be able to get them out of the glass very easily if at all.
