Temporal Distortion

I have experienced some severe temporal distortion recently, and at very strange and unexpected times. The most profound distortion I had about a week ago, when I was visiting my girlfriend in her dorm room. I had just had a cigarette on the walk over (nicotine tends to offer some slight distortions in time, like making myself perceive time to be going faster than it would "normally," but not an extreme degree - this is probably because of the act of smoking and its effect of killing brain cells - similar things happen when people sniff nitrous) and when I arrived at the dorm, it was probably 5 minutes since I'd put the cigarette out. I went up to her room, watched television briefly, then got on her laptop. She and I were watching Roseanne on the television. I began browsing a forum (not this one) and after reading one page (roughly 10 posts, none very long) the episode of Roseanne was over. I was actually shocked to see the credits. The show had begun about the same time I got onto the computer, and when I finished a seemingly quick task of browsing a forum, it was 25 minutes later. I was entirely sober, hadn't taken any drugs in the past 24 hours (aside from nicotine), and I was shocked to see this happen. My girlfriend said that I was just on the computer the whole time, but I have no recollection (especially no physical evidence, since the website page never changed) of what caught my attention for such a long period of time.
Often temporal distortion happens on psychedelics, which is to be expected in many cases, but I've never had such an extreme case when I was entirely sober (save for a recently smoke cigarette).
I'm wondering if anyone else has had any profound temporal distortions in their daily lives? I'm curious as to what might cause this to occur, because usually I am aware of when time appears to be "sped up" or "slowed down," but in this instance I was totally unaware of time distortion.

You seem to see time as something independent of yourself. You are time and make time flow. Time flows because you recognize it, it can be either quicker or slower than you think it really is. You can fill it with everything or nothing and absolutely every single thing in between.

This is all really interesting maybe you should do some research into it. So did you pretty much just blank out for a while? I find whenever I get on the computer time fuken flies and I mean really really fast.
Although where you mention quote:
" this is probably because of the act of smoking and its effect of killing brain cells - similar things happen when people sniff nitrous"
I don't believe this is the >cause< of the time distortion, IMO.

Yeah, I've been considering doing some experiments regarding time distortion, but it seems that the most extreme cases come unexpectedly.
I guess I was wrong to say that certain chemicals may be the 'cause' of the distortion, but I think it is likely that they act as a catalyst.

No doubt.
I suggest do some research on the internet looking for similar cases or even talk to a doctor you trust.
