Above -Their- Influence: A Counter Campaign

I have been toying with the idea of attempting to set up a unified internet only community campaign presenting certain drugs in a truthful and simplified manner, the later much like the "above the influence" campaign. If the support is there, perhaps it may see the light of day.
Banners should not be easily confused with other already running anti-drug campaigns (even though the target website address shares similarities). Banners must be tasteful, not offensive. Content would neither be pro or con of the issue, but relay facts in a straight forward manner.
- AboveTheirInfluence.com may be the future home of this project -
All Discussion encouraged, as well as user submitted advertisements. Any questions welcomed, but keep in mind this is very much a work in progress.
Remember: The goal is to show the public both sides of an argument.

That's a great idea man, though I'm fairly certain that there are already a few such websites. Can't think of them off the top of my head though.

isn't the shroomery and erowid just that? a place where people can come to find, hopefully, unbiased information about drugs? shroomery has lot of interactive dialogue between people who have been to the depths of problems and we also have people who have had no problems at all from their drug use. Erowid is truly a great wealth of knowledge about practically any substance a person might think about ingesting.
so before you go all gung-ho about starting up this campaign, maybe you should think about supporting the existing communities that we do have for this very purpose. get the word out about the shroomery, erowid, the lyceaum and lets try to get as much correct knowledge and information to as many people as we can.

I like the idea too, but it makes me think of:
erowid.org
and I think the more unified the site the better. Since erowid already is well established and has a wealth of information, why try to compete unless theres something you don't like about it? I tell anyone and everyone I know about it when talking about drugs. I tell it to them again. and again. eventually (it pretty much already has) it becomes the centerpiece for all drug information, and people will in turn refer their friends to it...so yeah.

Leaning more towards using the domain to tear apart and database former and current TV, Radio, and Print campaigns, as well as parody such material.
Ill further explain my original intent: Trying to compete with sites such as erowid.org would be counter-productive, and was never an intent. Instead, it would present non-biased information in a very simplified manner, much like the way anti-drug campaigns convey their message.
After some thought though, perhaps countering an insult (dumbed down information) with another insult (more dumbed down information) to the same audience is not the answer nor a step in the right direction.

I remember one of those 'Above the Influence" commercials where they said something like: "As soon as you give up the ability to control yourslef you give up what makes you you."
or something like that, and I'm thinking 'give up the ability to control myself'? That sounds like exactly what prohibition is to me. maybe I'm just not too bright and I misunderstood the point of the commercial.

Oxymoronic and hypocritical those campaigns are - at least when it comes to the "soft" drugs.
