Peroxide instead of water during sterilization?

Well I've been wondering this. I do not know too much about the chemical properties of H202, but I'm pretty sure it's not flamable (PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong.) So would it hurt if you put H202 in your pot to boil, instead of water? Would this not kill the contaminants a lot more efficiently than the hot steamy water does? Please fill me in, thanks.

I don't know at what concentration H2O2 would become dangerous to boil, but I'd bet it's a lot higher than 3% Though I'd want to know details before I started experimenting.
Also, I would question whether enough would get in the jars to make any difference.

#1 Unless you actualy put the H2O2 inside the jar its not going to help any at all. Basicly what Orranis said.
#2 H2O2 will kill spores so unless your useing an LC to inoculate its useless.
#3 H2O2 begins to break down when heated, exposed to light, or exposed to air. I am sure boiling temperatures would cause it to break down preaty fast in open air.

Pretty sure that kind of heat is going to break down your peroxide very rapidly, releasing H2O and O2. Neither of which would help your cause. Someone was discussing this in an earlier thread. The trivial amount of H2O2 found in over-the-counter HP (3%) will not cause the boiling point to raise enough to tell a significant difference. Just buy a cheap PC. It's the best investment you can make in this hobby.
