h2o2 instead of sterilzing.?????
    #5267101 - 02/05/06 07:06 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

has anyone ever tried not PCing a jar and instead using a h202 mix in the substrate water and seeing if it can kill off contams?
this most likely would never work, and the h2o2 cant be good for beginning mycelial growth, but hey worth a try maybe?

No, it's not worth a try at all.

Yep, it'll just contaminate.

Yes, it's been tried.

It would kill the mushroom spores. Think of h2o2 as more of a contaminate helper, not a sterlization replacement. It will help keep it away, but only after you all ready have some colonization.
