Meh

The guitar started sounding like shit, towards the end. It sounded out of tune, or something. Maybe it was just me, but I thought it was mediocre, at best.:shrug:I love the Stones, though.

The Stones have always been loose.  That is their signature.  They are the only band that can get away with it and make money.
Those old buggars do rock though.

\

it was very obvious to me that one of the guitarists was playing the right chord on the wrong fret. he was playing in the wrong key.

on top of that mick sounded horrible, the sound was a disaster, and micks dancing was too gay for most gay men.

the stones just sucked. It felt like i was at that terrible george clinton concert all over again seeing a once great artist, who's to old to rock, put his former self to shame, because he is now a washed up hack.

That was a bad choice but I don't really mind since I won 400$ on the game..

How can just stop doing something that you love? After being The Rolling Stones for 50 years...they just stop? It's their life. It's what they do.

As long as people like Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are making music, I don't see it as a negative thing.

Perhaps someone younger should have played the halftime show? Some nipple action drama, or a hoochie in hot pants shaking her ass around?

I'll take the Stones anyday.

None, I don't think.

I can't believe you guys are hating on The Stones so bad. The show was way better than I expected it to be. In fact, it was damn good. Jagger has charisma to burn.

I wasn't hating. I don't really listen to their music, but I thought that the 40 Licks Tour was supposed to be their final farewell?

The Stones are too old to rock.

Hell, now I know why some people appreciate rock stars burning out at their peak. If you let them linger on, they just ruin it more and more for themselves. I can imagine a wrinkly, fat-armed Jim Morrison in tight leather pants dancing around like a girl at the Superbowl...

I don't know if it was supposed to be the last tour or not. I could be wrong. If it was, then it's definitely lame for them to come back.

As for aging rockers, I think people need to put their performances into perspective. When I see The Stones or McCartney or someone play, I'm not expecting to see the artists they were in the sixties. That way, I'm not all surprised when they don't sound like 20 year olds.

I went to the lot of the '95 tour, when it came to Birmingham, but I wasn't planning on going in. I was just going to party in the lot.:) We were walking around and saw this gate attendant letting a bunch of people in and looking shady, so we walked over to see what the deal was. He was letting folks in for pocket change.:lol:We got in for like 11 bucks!! I don't remember much about the concert, except thinking that I would have been pissed if I would have had to pay any more than 5.50 for my ticket. It was a pretty crappy show, but like I said, I still like alot of the Stone's older stuff. They just need to give up the torch.

Here's one from The Stones' 1967 psychedelic album "Their Satanic Majesties Request", which I love. The Stones (or whomever was writing their lyrics) were really tuned in for a hot minute (one album). The song is called Sing This All Together.

Quote:

Why don't we sing this song all together
Open our heads let the pictures come
And if we close all our eyes together
Then we will see where we all come from

Pictures of us through the steamy haze
Picture of us painted in our place

Why don't we sing this song all together
Open our heads let the pictures come
And if we close all our eyes together
Then we will see where we all come from

Why don't we sing this song all together
Open our heads let the pictures come
And if we close all our eyes together
Then we will see where we all come from

Pictures of us beating on our drum
Never stopping til the rain has come

Why don't we sing this song all together
Open our heads let the pictures come
And if we close all our eyes together
Then we will see where we all come from

This is the Cocksucker Blues. A real, old skool, blues jam bootleg. All fag jokes aside, this is awesome music. The kind that comes from someones soul.

The glory of old bands like the Stones, Neil Young, Tom Petty, ...it's not about what they are capable of NOW. It's what they've accomplished in the course of thier lives, in the begining, in thier prime...and now still.

Honestly the stones went downhill in the 70's. I love the album Out of Our Heads, its a really good rock and roll album, deffinately one of the best of all time. The song hitchhike, sounds exactly like the Velvet Underground song There She Goes Again, except the stones version was a few years earlier.
