Need some insight

Okay well first of all I'd just like to say hello to all of you here at the Shroomery, and with the recent shut down of Overgrow, I most likely will be spending alot of time around here, so I hope we can establish a good connection.
Anyways, as of recently a very close friend and I have decided to test our hands at growing the good ol' Magic mushrooms!
Now as newbies, like advised on most forum site, have done my share of research. With this in mind I have decided that I'm ready to commit to growing, and most of all have fun doing it.
Originally I had thought of doing as so many have suggested for beginners, using the PF Tek. However after weeks of trying to get into contact with Fungi Friends (shroom growers in our area) we have turned up empty handed of both any sort of spore print/syringe or any form of already started culture.
To make this long story semi short, we decided to order some sort of starter. With a high % of us fucking up the spore print method we soon looked to ordering a syringe. However my friend for some reason or another was highly skeptical about syringes despite my efforts to try and convince him otherwise. As our last resort we are now considering ordering a grow kit (even though most would advise otherwise). I have included a link below and would love to hear your criticism, good or bad.
Thanks, and may the force be with you...
Link removed. It's appreciated if you don't link these types of products from non-Shroomery sponsors. Thanks

Kits can be recreated at wall mart for about 100-500% less than what it would cost to order+shipping. I bet for the price of a kit you could get a cheap pressure cooker from a trift store or ebay and study enough in the mean time so that you don't screw up your frist time.

When my friend started growing years ago, he was gonna buy an expensive kit too. Then he found the shroomery, and to this day is happy he didnt buy said kit.
Study and read all you can, find out what will work for your situation and go from there. Good luck and many happy trails.

I hate 'kits' but if you don't know if your going to grow more then once or twice then it might be worth it.
But if you put in the time and build what you need, copy the kit if you must, you would be better of, cheaper and even easier, why make some one else rich cause your to lazy to put in the time and effort your self.
So take your time, learn, seach and then grow

A warm welcome to you, Number Three. I've only worked my way up to number two, but then I've been called worse. Nice to have you here. I'm new here, too, and found this place is pretty comfortable, in spite of myself.
Onetime, Fick, and snag are the shit. You don't need expensive kits. Relate to your grow. Did you need ozonium nitrate? NO. just a basic knowledge of the conditions necessary. No magic beans, here. Just like in weed. There might be refinements at the cutting edge, but follow the basics, then jump into the orchids when you feel competent, not arrogant.

Thanks for your insight guys, I'm glad to hear that so many were willing to help out.
In response to Onetime, due to the fact that I wasn't able to post the link, Ill just cut and paste the description given: Growbox Cubensis ( Grow )
With this growbox you can grow your own 'magic mushrooms' in less than two weeks. Without any extra knowledge or 'hard to get' equipment you can grow up to 200-300 grams of fresh psilocybe cubensis! (300 grams fresh cubensis produces about 30 grams or 1oz. of dried cubensis). It can't get any easier than this. You only have to open the box and the mushrooms will start growing.
The psilocybe cubensis is also known as the stropharia cubensis, stropharia cyanascens, stropharia caerulescens or san isidoro. But the most common name is the 'Mexican mushroom'. This big mushroom has a yellow head, which can be 1,5 to 8 centimeters in diameter and a stem of 4 to 15 centimeters long. The psilocybe cubensis is very easy to grow, and is one of the most famous magic mushrooms used all over the world.
Theres also alot more about it but its generally just on how to set the kit up, you know basic instructions.
In response to Fick_duck, snaggletooth, and mogur, I heartily agree with you. Not only do I agree that I could set up my own kit for roughly 3/4 of the money, but that it would also be cheaper with syringes (a site recently given to me by a member here at the shroomery) and I could expand my strains from one to seven.
However thats just the thing. I feel that im ready to do this cheap, yet do it right. My fellow kindred feels that way too. However I'm having trouble convincing him to comitt, and I definately don't want to force him (thats not what friends do), that to puchase the said kit is less efficient then a pack of syringes. I think he might not want to do a grow more then a few times, but I still feel that in the long run the pack is better then the kit.
I guess its just something that will ultimately have to be decided between the two of us, yet i would like to hear all the additional insight you may have to further my point.......
Thanks again, and, May the force be with you...

I take it that you aren't in the U.S. if you can legally purchase this kit?
