Hi, I'm sure several of you have probably heard that mythe "once you take LSD you're disqualified from X amount of jobs". The reasoning I've been given is because of the risk of a flash back while you're expected to be performing a task, etc. Hoping to have a future in medicine and wanting to try LSD I feel this is something I should probably be informed about although I was unable to find anything on a brief search, hopefully someone here will have more information than I know or can point me in a good direction.

You're good. I mean, don't trip every day, but I've never heard of anybody suffering debilitating flashbacks years after a single acid dose.

it's not soo much whether or not the person would suffer any debilitating flashbacks that I'm concerned about, I'm more concerned about being turned down from a possible future job because of some stupid technicality that could have been easily avoiding if I was a little more careful, just trying to cover my ass before I dig myself into a hole
The was I see it though is that there would be no way to detect it after that long anyways so even if it came up I could just say no...

Just say no! It's difficult to detect lsd days after use, not to mention years.

I highly doubt you will ever be asked if you have ever specifically taken LSD for any job. They may ask about drugs, but the chances that they ask specifically about LSD are very small.

It's not 'difficult' to detect lsd use after years. It's impossible.

Well, I dropped lsd before working at the candy shop
Two coworkers knew about it, and it's not like they told my boss anything
Really, just lie if you've ever dropped

I think he's talking about a job where his life could actually be in danger.
Like an astronaut or pilot.
StickyWater: I wouldn't worry about it unless you've had a traumatic experience on psychedelics, or any traumatic experience for that matter. Real flashbacks can only occur if you've had a traumatic experience.
