I am incubating my jars and If I wrap them in my heat pad the temps go to 90-100 degreese and if I leave it be the jars temp stays at about 68-75 wich seems to cold for good incubation.
Just wondering how cold is to cold and how hot is to hot?

65 is too cold, 75 will work, but is slow, 86 is optimal, anything above 86 and you are providing better environment for contams, and thermal death happens around 106.

Not saying your wrong fraggin but I heard optimal temp is between 80-82 degrees. The jars will actually be about 5 degrees warmer on the inside. Just sayin what ive found in my studies if someone with some more credentials could clarify it would be better though

I am doing an experiment that probably will fail so at about 82 degrees on the outside of my jars since thats what I have got them to stay at now, how soon will I see mycelium growth?

Fraggin's right 84-86F. is optimal. Alot of jars in an incubator can raise the temp a couple (2F.) of degrees also as myc colonizes substrate it does produce energy which in turns produces heat but it is of absolutely no concern to us as it is almost unmeasurable.

Yeah I have low but low seems to low. The head pad when folded over with a thermomiter on low is 80 degreese and on medium 87ish and on high 90ish. I have the heat pad sitting on the floor with my 1pt jar faceing up resting on it and the heat just isnt transfering up high enuff.
