Ok, well, you don't HAVE to, but it's really intriguing. It's terribly long, and it will take you a while to get to the good part, but when you do...
Here it is:

I know. That's the downfall, and I'm not entirely through with it. It's more like a book, actually, and it gets interesting a few "pages" in.

It doesn't take too long to get interesting but it is a very long page.... I started last night and resumed again this morning and I'm only 1/2 way through but I recommend people give it a read.
If this were a novel I'd probably buy it

how does the subject change, and what does it have to deal with. dont mean for you to spoil the movie, but...

Fiction, but very interesting to read.
Unfortunately, what I found somewhat annoying was the human emotions and rationalizations that Bob the "alien" had. It would, perhaps, be a much better story in brief, but I still found it rather interesting.
It's a compelling idea to think about alien lifeforms contacting us via the internet, but I really don't find the whole 'immortal being' idea to be very feasible. Perhaps I'd be more open-minded if I were to be able to talk to such a creature, heh.

I feel like the article itself is trying to do just what it talks about-- prepare me for undeniable alien contact. Wierd...I get a really creepy vibe reading this...it's almost TOO possible.

Exactly. That's what was the strange part of it.
For those who want to know the gist before reading it, a supposed "alien" contacts this guy through the internet to prepare him for a "doorway" opening into his world. The idea is that these people live forever, existing essentially as programs inside a large ship/ computer.

I finally got around to reading this in full. It has a nice overlay to the matrix trilogy. Anyone catch that? It has many over lays, to many to mention. I actually did a long reply to what i know about the earth being a game world in the physical with many virtual reality overlays built into it, I dunno, it may freak people out to much, so I scrapped it.
I respect the deniable contact and deniable memory trigger protocols. Best to keep it all in a sci-fi "imagination" context for the sake of peoples psyches.
If many undeniable truths related to a complete paradigm shift were dumped on all humans tomorrow, it would not be a pretty site. Peoples nervous systems at large can't handle such an infusion of light yet. Slow baby steps, mini readjustments and gentile care is the way out. There's no rush or hurry. We are eternal after all. That said, its a no wonder why we invented the game masters and the game worlds. What else does one do with an eternal conscious existence as creative intelligence in pure omniscient and omnipresent love and light force?

I had some of the same thoughts, Jiggy. The really odd thing about overlapping concepts with the Matrix is that this was originally posted in 1996! That was a long time ago for these concepts to be out there.

this sort of seems like a copout. they seem very technological and not spiritual. i always thought u advanced by becoming enlightened then u dont exist in the physical world. the thing i dont get is why exist in a computer? its like a fake enlightenment that is used for sensory pleasure. they just create worlds to go to vacation on and create scenarios to experience. do they progress spiritually? btw i read the whole thing i recomend it, however the last bit got me down, i dunno if it was just from reading too long.

unless this is a part of the conspiracy...
"BABAJI: After the Great Revolution, this world will enter a golden age. The environment will be in balance and mankind will have changed its ways by living on the higher path. There will be tremendous technology. It will take you to the stars in this galaxy and beyond to other galaxies. You will become a great race creating life throughout the universe. And you will meet up with sentient beings from other dimensions of space-time when your science breaks through the quantum backdrop, the ground of being from which everything comes, the HOLOFIELD."
this is someone i respect and think is ENLIGHTENED (he claims to be immortal and here from the beginning of time) and he just looks GOOD like when i look at his picture he smiles at me. and its almost like he is talking about the aliens. from: http://babajispeaks.com/radio.htm
does anybody know a forum where this stuff is talked about the shroomery mysticism forum is too quiet

I'm wondering something. If anyone has seen the episode of South Park where the aliens abduct the boys and let them in on the secret that Earth is a reality show and that on all other planets there is only one species...
do you think they were making fun of this? or got the idea from this? or maybe the aliens really are influencing hollywood writers' subconsciously :P

I dont know if this has already been said but ill say it anyway. The only reason aliens would be very intrested in us but not want to make themselves know is that human kind lacks self control. that is my opinion.

Either way, on any future visit, the island would be a source of meat. These islands, they were pristine. These were home to breeds of birds with no natural predators. Breeds of birds that lived nowhere else on earth. The plants there, without enemies they evolved without thorns or poisons. Without predators and enemies, these islands, they were paradise. The sailors, the next time they visited these islands, the only things still there would be herds of goats or pigs. Does this remind you of anything? Maybe the ol' Adam and Eve story? We are social creatures, we only know ourselves through our friends, and loved ones. Its hard to accept, but it is true. when we exist alone, we make up our own culture.

bump. i'd like to hear your ideas, it would not be too much, perhaps in a PM or you could put a disclaimer at the beginning .
i'd say this would be some kind of "magical" world considering all the miracles that happen... is that what you mean by virtual reality? The Matrix was probably taken directly from this webpage. the differences i can tell are that instead of living in outerspace in a computer they live on earth in a computer, it's not magical, and they can't choose their "realities" or create worlds as they are controlled by machines to use them as "batteries" which is pretty dumb because machines have no purpose except service. the idea seems awesome and i would like to live there except the part about not having a soul.
without a soul you can never be liberated. the computer world consists of ultra goodness but not Godness. this is quite confusing because if we already are in this computer we do not know the possiblities except perhaps in a distant memory. this computer world is just an extreme example of someone who fills their life with GOOD things that must pass in time. Buddha said that even good is suffering, notwithstanding the fact that we enjoy good while it is around. so the computer world is just some very subtle yet powerful form of suffering. i don't know. if i've made the Choice already then it's not so bad an existence, but i won't choose to make it if i haven't. i think. would you? this is being discussed in another thread but that is just going on a ship, not being inserted into a computer never to live in the physical world again.

WOW! That was posted about 8 months ago. These topics are bound to bring me into esoteric gibberish, and thought stream ramblings which I just don't want to get into now, as fun as they can be.
I'll hit you with some quickies-
-In the area that just comes up confused for you, VERY understandably so. The game worlds are all HYPER complex. Run with what you said about a distant memory. Go through the heart center and feel them.
-Intuition is like a bonus power pack you win in a video game. It is the portal to the distant memories (future, present elsewhere included). Keep being mindful of feeling your way through things, instead of thinking your way through them. The intuitive guide within "knows" the terrain well and will take good care of you and those around you.
-WE are the game masters playing out the games of our own colaborative design, Virtually of course. And we set it up where we get to do program rewrites while in it, how cool is that? Gets really fun when memory packs start coming into play to use.
-Quiet mind time makes storage room for more intuitive memory packs to be in use.
- Re-member the splits. The more you can find yourself in every set of eyes you look into, you build more playing power to jump up levels with. 100 horses are more powerful then 2. Thats a hard one to master in this game of many games going on. We programmed in duality judgment and an ability to percieve differences to make it more of a challenge to remember our way up and out.
-When you are truly no longer in need or want of leaving a place for good is when you will no longer have a need or want to come back to it.
and
-When you truly want to be here more then anywhere else with everything you have, is when it will be time to go somehwere else very different from what you have known.
Still all reads like gibberish.

Now that this thread has been brought back, I'd like to bring up that I watched this google video about the Transhumanists a few days ago and they believe that after they have life extention technologies, they will go even further and create artificial intelligence where we would be able to leave our fragile biological bodies and exist in a computer Here's the link:

One of, edit TWO Clifford Pickover's more recent books have explored this. Look at 'Beginners' Guide to Immortality", and whatever novel it was he put out in 2007. Too many damn novels by this guy to remember all the names. Beautiful, lucid work.
