This mushroom found at our back yard (Philippines-Tropical Region)under a tree (shaded)planted in the soil. This mushroom often fruit after a 2-3 consecutive days of heavy rain. For the size and texture I gues the ppicture can tell since my finger is there.
If other need information is needed I'll be glady to give. Also we have tried eating it-Cook with onions and other spices and it taste good the flesh is not so meaty its just like a wet bread.

Actually before we tried cooking it, it is already being consumed by the people in the place even before we have relocated/transfered there.
As a matter of fack neighbor are knocking on our doors and asking for it.
So I guess its not poisonous after all, but then again I have read some artcles that there are mushroom that bad effect occurs after years of consumtion-This is also the reason im eager to identfy this one.

A spore print would be a good place to start. Guessing a white spore print, that's probably going to be a Tricholoma. The Tricholomas similar to that are a major bitch to ID to species. There are a bunch of similar species that are very difficult to tell apart, some poisonous, some edible.
Of course, that's the similar species it Europe and North America. In the Philippines you may very well have entirely different species.
Happy mushrooming!

Ok I'll try to get spore prints. But I think I have to read more from this forum to know how.
Many thanks

Cut the stem from the cap as close as you possibly can. Place the cap, gills down on a piece of white paper. Place an upside-down glass over the cap and let it sit for like 8 hours. After this, take the cap off and you will have a spore print.

"Also we have tried eating it-Cook with onions and other spices and it taste good the flesh is not so meaty its just like a wet bread. "
Even if people tell you its edible, you should have someone that knows mushrooms ID it for you before you eat even alittle.

interestingly enough that this thread had been bumped...
my lola had apparently died due to eating mushrooms she had picked. something about liver complications..though of course i dont know the full details of what species she had eaten since i was young and didn't know anything about mushrooms then...
