why?
    #5263602 - 02/04/06 06:29 PM (17 years, 11 months ago)

Is God testing me? Past few weeks have proven to be hell. I'm on the verge of a panic attack. It all started when i was caught smoking in my dorm room. I just got back from a school judicial board meeting, they decided since i had 600 dollars on me and a scale in my room that i am a dealer. This accusation is so false its not even funny. I told them it was all christmas money from family and i even provided check reciepts to prove it. They still wont believe me and are suspending me from college untill next year. The past few weeks i cant help to feel like God is giving me signs...signs of how evil this world is and i have no control over what is happening to me. I want this to end....

People thank God during Good times and ask him why during the bad times.

The fact is, God didn't get you suspended.  Your were smoking pot in the room, and that got you suspended.

Don't worry about it, you weren't expelled.  Take this time to make some money or travel somewhere you've always wanted to go.  This is an opportunity.  And while it is one you may not have wished for, you can still ceize this opportunity to make the most out of it.

It's not over yet, the waves of good and bad will continue to flow. Just ride em

Do those 40,000 people who starve to death everyday do so because it's in gods plan and it's for the better?

umm how can you blame God for that? you chose to engage in illegal activity in your dorm room, a very risky place and you got caught. its also very common to suspect someone of dealing if they have a scale and large amounts of cash lying around. in addition did you ever consider the idea using drugs might be wrong in the eyes of your God?

must we degrade into an atheism vs religion debate every time someone mentions their belief in God? you know very well the religious answer to that question is free will. so why even bring it up?

I never said i was blaming God. All i said is i feel like he is testing me. And actually yes this experience has opened my eyes. I have quit using drugs and i feel it is for the better. So i guess this has been a gift.

but i dont follow why you think this is a sign of how evil the world is. the people who don't believe you are not being intentially evil, they simply feel like the evidence stands against you. remember if you were dealing you would probably also claim you weren't. to them the fact that you had a scale is always a sign of dealing, that coupledd with a large amount of cash doesn't look too good.

Starting an atheism vs religion debate was not my intention. I asked that question to see if he could justify 40,000 deaths without taking the easy way out(i.e for reasons you and i are not capable of understanding) Believing that an old man upstairs has a plan for everything is like surrendering with training wheels.

i can not justify why so many people die from starvation. it just happens. but what i do know is it doesnt need to happen. if people more fortunate would do something about it then starvation would not be an issue. however, i dont understand why we insist on ignoring it. perhaps we are the evil ones.

you already know the religious answer is free will. there is enough food on the earth to feed everyone if it was distrubuted properly. as you can see this can go nowehere other than a religion vs atheism debate.

my advice is to hang in there, and like someone else said just take the time to make some money and do some stuff you weren't able to while you were in school. That's insane that they expelled you basically over having a scale. How much pot did they find? i can understand if it was anything big they could pin the dealer status on you. Still sucks that you got suspended for a year for some bud. Live and learn though

well i opened the door and i made them get a warrant. after i said that they handcuffed me and made me sit outside of my room for a few hours while they got the warrant via telephone.

i think that pissed them off.

If a wild group of apes suddenly developed a religion that explains natural phenomena... why, with the knowledge you know now, would you believe them?

Most religious types do not even dare to answer this question.

Out of the thousands of gods that are worshipped, which flavor of god do you worship?

psyka... lets say you are right. lets say there was no God. lets say that we are wild apes and we created this religion. why do you think it was created? sure some people will say it was created as a tool of control but what exactly is it all religions are trying to make a point of. the fact is all these religions are attempting to teach people how to live life in a peacefull, loving manner. if you believe this to be a crime then you are in fact evil. why should anyone not aspire to be kind? even if these religions were false, and was proven to be false, why not still follow the concepts? i believe the teachings of Jesus, Allah, or any other God you can relate to will make you a better person. and as a result make a better human race. it is people like you who are not willing to practice life in an ethical, kind manner who make this world so shitty. if you are in fact a kind person and treat others with respect i still say you are wrong becuase you try to deny people from achieving the very same thing you supposively practice. please stop spreading your hate. trying to convince someone thier practice of good is wrong becuase you think it is untrue is completely unethical and does not help anyone.

You are practicing the philosophy and self-help regions of religion; not an actual religion.

There are plenty of structured ways to do this, you dont need to bind yourself to anything. Stay fluid.

I'm sorry you perceive me as spreading hate, but I see it as the opposite. We are informed enough to understand religion is not necessary to be at peace with each other.

Was it love that started the Inquisition, 9/11, or any other religious inspired destruction? Of course not.

*Ultimately...it is the inability to communicate with each other; thats the missing link. No religion can teach this, only education and a willingness to go beyond yourself.

I understand what you're saying, but please if you don't like what I say re-read it give it more thought. My words are not here to make enemies.

Again, I'm sorry you feel I was spreading hate and wish I knew why you said that, anyway.

Because obviously, atheists are hateful people and are going to lead to the downfall of the world.

Jehovah's witnesses and Muslims are spreading good when they coercively annoy or force people into their insane and unjustified beliefs, but if an atheist does it, well! Imagine the state of the world if religious fanatics weren't there to fix all the evil atheists are spreading nowadays...

As for your situation, that does suck, but it might get better. Use this time to do something you wanted to do, like publish a book, and maybe, in the end, you'll end up better off than you would have been with a few more months of college under your belt. Don't let it go to waste because it's "God's will", as Jesus only helps those who help themselves.

wow that's nothin. So basically the busted you for selling because of the scale. that sucks. I got busted about a month ago by my school with around a gram and two hits of ecstacy. I got fined $200 and I have to attend one drug awareness class. The shitty thing is they took me to the city jail because i wouldn't tell them where i got the E from. I wouldn't say a word about it. I ended up getting 6 months without a finding and 6 months probation, but i'm still in school. I didn't think the cops could keep you if they didn't have a warrant. I'm pretty sure they can't, but what's done is done i guess. Again sorry bro.

p.s. enough with the religion debate guys.
