Ages to pin. What are some optimum settings for casings.
    #5263476 - 02/04/06 05:35 PM (17 years, 11 months ago)

I have a bunch of casings that are taking ages to pin. I have two that took about 2 weeks to pin for the first time after I put them in their fc (75f 80ish humid perlite on bottom) I have another casing that is taking forever as well. I crumbled 2qts of corn and put them in a large baking container and incubated them for about 7 days. They had barely started to grow through the casing layer. The casing looks fine and smells fine and there are no signs of contams on any of the casings. I have come to the decision that I have a screwy fruiting settings and would like to know what parameters some of the more successful growers on here use. Thanks.

A freind just had this happen and he just threw the caseings in the incubator for a cuple of days and then dunked the whole caseing and a few days later bam!! pins. This might work for you or might not. Seems that your settings are fine. maby you had too thick of caseing layer.
