I you're sure that it's dry, just put some sterilized water in a syringe and spray a few ml around the cake.

mix 100 ml of spring water, mix with 5ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide. Make sure the mixture is a little warm (not hot!) and inject it into the dry part of your cake with a clean syringe. move your needle around so the water doesn't soak in just one part. Inject 10cc's at a time and wait a minute or two inbetween so you don't accidentally over hydrate the cakes. good luck man!
Oh, and check out my journal and go to the cakesaver tek. it might help you if something happens to your grow and your out of spores.

yes, they will continue to grow. I actually have been doing this the past two weeks with a tray of Shiitake spawn/sawdust, and because the bag that i have the tray in isn't sealed off, it dries out a bit. thats how i developed this method.
It feels good to help ...especially when I have been in the same situation and I have sympathy.

U could make a liquid culture if you have more spores left. Then inject about 2cc of LC per cake. That might speed things up nicely
