Jiffy Mix ?

Has anyone out there ever checked the ph of
"Jiffy Mix" to see if it needed additional lime/chalk?
Is it easy to get too much? I have no way of
testing it. Could someone give me some pointers?

About the jiffy mix.. lime has already been added to adjust ph level you are good to go.

Do you have a Fred Meyers in your area?
They carry ph soil test strips in the house plant area.
They also have a battery operated ph tester for $12.95
I've never tryed the battery operated one though.

Thanks Roadkill, I haven't heard of a Fred Meyers but
at least I know what to look for. I didn't even know
what to call it. I have seen my brother test his pool
with a ph strip but the law is watching sales of those
(especially in winter) because so many meth cooks
use them. Are they basically the same thing?
