longevity of an ayahuasca trip?

I took ayahuasca about 2 years ago, and I still see some visuals all day, every day. When I smoke pot I trip pretty hard in every way. I have taken VERY high doses of all the classical hallucinogens, and used to dose quite often, never less than 2 weeks apart though, usually much farther apart than that. For me the ayahuasca experience, the likes of which I expected due to the extreemely high dose, lasted about 24 hours. The third day it didnt come down much more. What followed was a year and a half come-down. Every day I would be tripping a little less, often it wasnt even a noticable change from the day before. This was very hard for me, and I learned alot that year. (many shamans believe the best work done with this hallucinogen is in the months after the experience). FOr me this is very true. I almost lost it during this 2 day session. Has anything like this happened to anybody here with ayahuasca, or its relative, the mushroom? Was this because it was a high dose administered twice in two days with little sleep and VERY little food. Is it because I have tripped so many times that one day I would have had to fall off the deep end. I would like to hear about anyone who has had a similare experience. I Would also like to hear someone elses take on this type of an experience. I know why this happened to me(many reasons). But I would appreciate anyone's imput.

That would definately be the absolute most simple explanation. Did you really think I was asking for that information? Although I thank you for the effort. HPPD is something that happens and is not well defined at all besides the symptoms. So yes, this is a form of HPPD. I was asking why/how, and for your experiences with it. LSd has done this to me before, but nothing compares to ayahuasca. Those articles will not even begin to say anything about how or why it goes away over long periods of time. Nor will they discuss why this state seems to be yet another function of the hallucinogens, and can be of benafit to you. Most people think that HPPD is an exception to the rule. That is not the case if you consumed hallucinogens the way I have. There are not/were never ANY true psychadelic shamans that are/were not permanently changed from using ayahuasca 100's of times. The only difference is that they know its coming when it hits, and they dont consider it to be a disorder. After I tripped as hard as I did for two days, I knew that this state was not somehow going to leave me in a few days. It was obvious that it would stick with me unlike any HIGH dose of LSD can even compare to.

I tripped on ayahuasca and it only lasted about 3 hours after I threw up. and minimum residual effects that I noticed.
I do know what you are saying though, I ate a big bottle of nutmeg, and that messed me up hard for about 7 days of in and out hallucinations, and took about 2 years to taper off.
It felt like a prison sentence.

Thanks for the info. That fits right into what I was saying. It is very interesting to know that nutmeg can do that. I dont know if I will ever eat any of that stuff, but that makes me want to read about it, thats for sure.
