Removed Metabolites from Casing
    #5260895 - 02/03/06 09:39 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

A FOAF had two hpoo spawned trays that are a day from being ready to patch. Myc Growth is coverin all but a few little chunky pieces of poo. It appears that either/and/or water droplets fell off of the foil covering the top of the tray onto the myc, and/or the myc is excreting some metabolites.
My friend's buddy, use a sterilized meat injector to suck the liquid off of the few spots where it had collected into puddles on top of the mycelium. Two of the puddles contained clear liquid, and the rest of the little puddles of liquid were yellow. All together, it appears to be two tablespoons of liquid. He wrapped the syringe up in foil that was sprayed with lysol and stuck it in his incubator just to see what would happen because there was a speck of mycelium floating around in it.
Did he do the right thing by extracting the liquid?

I don't know...But the same thing happened with a casing..fully colonized but a few areas, I used a cotton ball to remove it....the next day the case was full colonized

After some more reading, It appears that if what I read was correct, the mycelium metabolites appeard on my casing from stress. The clear puddles must have been water that dripped down from the top. But the yellow must have been the myceliums response to fighting off an infection I presume. When my foaf first spawned his poo, he lift put it in his TiT and left it for 8 hours before he realized it that poo casings produce their own heat, and his casing was removed immediatley. So, this could be the reason for the myc stress.
