Hi all,
so I picked up a copy of reason 3 a few weeks ago (something I am now wishing I could have got around to doing a long time ago) and have been spending the last few days trying to get a feel for the program and some of the devices it has.. I was wondering if anybody had the know how or possibly a link to a tutorial of a sort..I've been itching to learn how to create something like that kind of 'buzzy' soloing effect that alot of trance artists tend to use in their tracks.. usually with quick time changes and in many cases driven by some amount of warpy filtering effects..
Probably not a the best description I know but as an example if you know the song snakey shaker by hallucinogen the main idea of what I am talking about is there in the main lead of that track, aswell as many other by him.. I mean I guess I would probably be able to figure something just out by finding a similar sound to experiment with and play around with it in the sequencer or whatever.. but for the sake of speeding up the learning curve I guess I was just wondering if there might be a specific device in reason which might make an effect like that that easier to create and work into a track.. if anyone can help point me in the right direction that would be awesome...
Anyway, attached is a little something I put together last night after reading about and experimenting with the subtractor synth in reason.. seeing as how alot of this is still fairly new to me I guess I am still a little excited with how it turned out so I thought I might as well go ahead and pass it along to hear some of your guys thoughts.. any feedback/critisisms would be much appreciated!

here is one more quick sample, most of it was done in fruityloops but it also had a couple synth tracks dubbed over using cool edit. this was done before I had a chance to try out reason.

Hey congrats on buying a great program. If you're going to be using Reason, you need this book . It explains what every single knob does on every device. Don't worry that the book is for Reason 2. All the knowledge in the book is applicable to Reason 3 as well. Good luck and have fun!
