I made 14 qts of wbs the agar method with a 24 hr ish soak. no seed germination. Polyfil filters. Inoculated with 5-10 cc of LC. it wasnt foggy but definetly there. I did forget to shake the jars out of the PC. They do not look too wet or dry. Just nothing? any ideas

Were the WBS jars cooled overnight to room temps, pre/inoculation?
Did you shake the jars after you inoculated?
How long has it been since you innoc'ed?
 50 hours after LC innoc.

I do not know about a coating? it is the same seed I used for my other thread. I did let them cool overnight. its been 5 days. For a LC that is way slow it would seem. yes I lightly shook the jars.

I knew a guy who tried some WBS with BirdKote, he made up 20 jars, tried a few different ways to innoc, none worked. Not even a beautiful LC he had. So, he bought another type of WBS, preped jar same way, and innoc'd with the LC, bam growth in a day. I would go with a cheap WBS, like agar generally recommends, a good rule of thumb would be to read the ingredients and make sure there are only seeds, and maybe a buffer for ph Cheaper too, $8 for 30-40lbs
EDIT: Nice first grow, 5 for that baby!!!

Alot (most) of brands have fungicides added to prevent molds and prolong storage, they all need to be rinsed throughly it's just mycosense IME. Moisture content is also always a biggie too with any substrate. GL

Pennington brand in the yellow bag. are there any names on the bag to look for IE..fungicides and what not. This stuff worked once before. I am gonna do 7 qts simmered and rinsed and do 7 soaked and rinsed. Knock up with the same LC and see what happens
