here are some cube hunting tips;
they grow the best in patches of tall grass, and on the treeline if there is one, if there is a forested area of the field (where the cows can chill in the woods) then check there and you should find plenty of cubensis if the conditions are right over there

Cubes grow in all kinds of enviroments, in and out of grasses, Many are very visible with the naked eye/
Here is one image of open cubes, very common everywhere.
NO Tall grass here and four inches in diameter in manured bled into the ground form a lot of rain. Ban Nathon, Koh Samui

Look in manure for the Copes and the cubes.

Yes, look in the manure. if there are clumps of tall grass in that feild, look there too. i have found 5 cubes that size on one patty, golden and purple, the size of a cd, followed by at least 10 other cubes of different sizes when i look in the tall grass. in the field i hunt there are tall patches of grass all over the place with shit in the middle because the cows eat the grass and generally dont eat their own shit, therefore having tall grasss grow around old piles of shit. you will find cubes all over the field, of course. im simply saying that if you look in a patch of tall grass in the middle of a field you might find a pleasent suprise.

By the way Cubensis Cutter, The grass grows form out of the shit, bot around it although that can happen also. The shiot is awhat makes the grass grow. An example of such where a small pile of decomposed manure has a new strand of grass appearing and asmall plant poppling up.

Yup! Tht is pretty Common. Even the spreading of manure, like in Asia, they collect themanure in tropical and subtropical climates, usually making small spread bed areas and also piling the manure along and around the coconut trees int he groves and land areas. When the conditions are right, the shroops appear in abundances.
Here is a picture of copes growing from manure piled along and follonging a trail next to a cocnut tree at one of the many buffalo arenas.
Not the greatest picture, taken with a friends camera I borrowed when my batteries ran out.
In this particular image, fresh manure, possibly several days old was poured while fresh over a place where grasses were spores were deposited in grassy areas. Some shrooms popped up through the decomposing several days drying manure while others appear fruiting on the outskirts of the fresher manure where grass has already grown over manure previously deposited. Perpetual farms are what buffalo arenas are. For some reason the cubes are scattersd in these kind of habitats and the Copes are predominant. On the other hand when manure is flattened and spread, cubes will also appear in builf abundance.
Here is a cope image form a buffalo arena .

Hello!
It is a bit old thread, but I am writing here because i wanted to give tha same name to the thread... So, i am travelling to Philippines (end of february), and want to collect some wild spore prints on my short 3weeks travel. I know that in March dry season starts. Do you think is possible to find some cubes or pans there in february/march? Which islands are better for mushroom hunting, where, which region/islands are more cows/buffalos?

Just for point of reference the "islands" are massive. Manila to Pagudpud is already about 12 hours. Manila to Baguio takes about 4 - 6 hours.
Definitely good if you were to have your own car. Good luck.
