How much time do you spend on your songs?

I was just wondering since some of you seem to put out a new song every week!
Even tho my style is psychedelic rock and I'm writting a full album, which takes a hella lot of time, it seems to me that I'm still devoting a lot more time per song than most people.
I can safely say I spend about 80-100 hours per song, that's only recording-mixing and masterizing. I couldn't possibly count the time I spent composing every single song. Even a quick song took me 15 hours to record.
So how about you, how much time do you spend on a given track usually?

When I make electronic music at home, I spend an average of 3-4 months on a song, but I often start projects and come back to them later. like, way later.
I have a song I started on last March, spent a good 2 months on it then, but came back to it twice so far adding on, and I'm still not done. It all depends on how often I get to it, because I do much better in long, epic songwriting sessions as opposed to an hour here and there.

I don't do electronic music but my bandmate does. He's fucking fast. He'll get an idea and 2 days later he'll show it to me. He used to sell/hand out these burned 10 song CDs, he'd make several every year
And it's not shit, it's good. Don't tell him but I envy him a lot

im in a band of me (drums) and a friend (bass/vocals), and we're recording our demo right now.. we've been working on it for 2-3 weeks, and have had to go back and change alot of shit this is our first time doing a serious recording tho.. there are 11 songs, and we should have it finalized within a week.

Some songs come out of pure jams.. and are spontaneously created within hours or even in one single session. Of course we always work on them and further refine them as time goes on, but the foundation is there.
Other songs.. I have spent weeks/months/even years working on. I have an unfinished song from 1999, that I will never be fully satisfied with. On the other hand, my band has a couple songs that we wrote in about 30 minutes, just fucking around.

Around 5 hours or so, but for not so regular sets I sometimes spend more time on it.

A song is never finished in my book. It can always be improved. Everytime I listen to something I made, I get more ideas and I go back and make it better.

i think about a song for months and months, hear the melodies whispering in my head.. then one day ill create it, the skeleton of it anyways. it's like im bathing in pure light when it comes out of my fingers and my ears hear it.
i don't aim for a completed piece at this point in my life... im waiting to find the musicians or maybe just the right time that will help fully realize it. so right now im just going on basic arrangements and trying to flesh out my musical style. i hope to make a real contribution when im more focused and have better resources.

Somebody, maybe Miles Davis, said the best songs write themselves (with the help of a songwriter) in about 30 minutes. The rest is just details.

The electronica stuff I do just by myself I find is best when it's not tweaked too much, get an idea down quickly and usually the first mix is often the best - maximum is probably 2 days, although I did once spend 8 hours on hi hats alone!
The band stuff I do we usually take songs that we've worked on for a while into the studio and we try and do a song per 8 hour session, with maybe 2-4 hours for a mixdown.
The more you meddle with a good idea, the more diluted it gets - I've got 4 track demo's that I knocked up in an hour or so that just have a certain quality and atmosphere that can't be improved by taking longer in the studio and trying to recreate them.

that sounds about right. i stopped mixing my own music after a certain point, and that really helps too, because i would spend more time on that than making new stuff.
