Condensation on cakes in terranium question, PLEASE HELP
    #5255622 - 02/02/06 02:39 PM (17 years, 11 months ago)

is slight condensation on the cakes inside the terranium ok. or is this a big problem. i am running an ultra sonic humidifier 24 hours with three 2 liter bottles to filter out humidity. maybe i should cut down to 12 hours a day? and the hydrometer says it is a little above 90 percent. however i know these arent always accurate.

How slight is slight? A few tiny droplets won't hurt much, but if you start to get standing water, then that's no good. You don't need the Ultra sonic running 24/7, put it on a timer. Also be sure to fan very often, like 5 or 6 times a day, to ensure it gets enough Fresh Air Exchange [FAE], and also to help eliminate the moisture that's directly on the cake.

I really can't tell you. I don't have any firsthand experience with Ultrasonics myself. Off the top of my head, I'd guess like 10-15 min per hour, but like I said, I've got no firsthand experience. Try searching the topic, I'm sure that question has been asked before. Until you find out, just fan ALOT.
