    #5255029 - 02/02/06 12:31 PM (17 years, 11 months ago)

steam sterilized 4 1/2 pint pf jars for about 2 hours. its been about a week now and all 4 of them have blotches of white colored stuff starting to show. in some places. some spots its just a thin layer of translucent whitish stuff covering the substrate and theres a few tiny little white spots you cannot see through at alll. is this some kind of contam or is the myc starting to form?

yes, we do need a pic.  but as long as it is "white" then you are good.
be patient and let them colonize

the thick white sounds good. the thin white sounds like cobweb or not enough water
