shallow (1-2in) substarte will make much smaller mushrooms than a 4in. substrate depth

1-2 inch casing layer?? A 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch casing layer is what you want

yeah, even 1in. is too much.
and 6in. of substrate might be over kill too. 4in. is standard.

how do you know its not a cyan? Spores101 are reputable, they wouldn't "rip you off" intentionally. If you have issues with the syringe they sent you, PM them, or get in touch with them in the sponsors forum. Im sure they'll be more then happy to sort you out.

_OttO_: I don't think he was answering a question, but thank you for 'exiting stage right.' This leaves more room for people to help stragladesh with his questions in a constructive manner. (I guess I'm still not sure what your post was about.)
strangladesh: I've been having the same problem. I was using too thin a casing layer (1-1.5") to get more surface area fruiting at at a time. I got small mushrooms, nothing like the shrooms I've grown before. Then again, those were B+... Best advice I can give you: Answer everyone who posted a question as a reply, they may (likely) know more than me, and be much more helpful.

I was referring to his public flaming of a sponsor company of this website after he was already warned not to.

Your 1.5" casing layer is not too thin at all, its actually too thick. Never use a casing layer thicker than an inch.

i must have made a typo, the casing layer isn't even close to 1inch thick its just a thin layer, about .25-.5 inc, it is very thin, i looked today the bottom casing is covered in mutants, could their be a lack of Fae or is the 10 hole mono tub sufficient.
