Nice to find an active community of avid shroom growers! As a new member, I would like to ask a few question. Yes, I've read the newbie guides and have a general understanding of how cultivation works.
However, if you could answer me a few questions, I would appreciate it! 1. Does cultivation emit an odor? This is important as I live in a 3 bdroom aptmnt w/ 2 roomates who will not know about my mushroom ventures. 2. Does a large bedroom w/ a window + closet suffice as a good growing area? I can always shut the closet door >;) 3. I plan on doing the process entirely in my room w/ the door shut. Is this possible? Does there need to be airmovement? Will a busy college student be able to keep this grow hidden?
Thanks!

1- No, it does not emit any odor, except if you are pasteurizing poo 2- yes, that's more than enough, some people use coke bottles in a little corner of a closet 3- yes, it's possible, you don't need air movement i the room in fact it is better as it lower your chances of contamination, and if you don't tell ANYONE, you'll be able to keep it hidden

I have a follow-up question then:
Has there ever been instances of trouble with authority over spore syringe ordering? I guess I'm a little bit paranoid. I know syringes are legal, but has anyone ever been tracked for ordering them, and then busted by police awhile later under growing assumption?
Thanks!

Well you need a stove to starilize your jars. So I don't think that you could do it 100% in your bedroom. Remeber if your underage its your parents that would be busted. Make sure that all your roomates understand what your doing. I am sure that if you get busted that every one in your house will get intruble for something. Even if they didnt know that you were doing it. Spores are 100% LEGAL. Tracked by who? Al Qaeda? CIA? DEA? Better lossen your tin foil hat there. City and state police wouldn't have the legal right to look in to what your ordering online from five states a way. Crossing boarders would be federal's job.

If you use a single burner hot plate in your room you can steam sterilize your jars and even pasteurize horse poo without trouble or smell(well, maybe just a little bit with the poo). Check out the size of my operation and how easily it is hidden. I would recomend a tub in tub set up like this for your situation.

Hello, yes it certainly is possible to keep a shrooming set up hidden - these pics are of my cupboard that im using, which works perfectly, cant be noticed at all from the outside. Also its not a good idea to tell anyone (at all) what your doing because things like that tend to spread!

Best of luck with your growing!

IMO... 1. Yes, there is somewhat of an odor (which can be masked, if you're on top of it!) 2. Yes, a large bedroom with a closet can work for your growing chamber! 3. Air movement can be accomplished in your growing area by fanning with your window open and fresh air circulating through your room! (Watch your temps if you're living in a cold climate). However, how well do you know your roommates? If there is cause for caution then you may want to rethink the idea of cultivating until you know you are worry-free of anyone knowing what you're doing in the closet! I don't think it's fair for you to put your roomies at risk without their knowledge of what the risks entail! See, it's not the spores you need to worry with about the legality, it's the actual product they produce, !
