Mycelium won?
    #525347 - 01/19/02 05:07 AM (21 years, 10 months ago)

Well... I had a quart of rye that was obviously contaminated with green mold, all over the place...growing alongside the mycelium. I forgot to dump it out and just left it by the windowsill (with the top off and nothing but a filter disc laying on top) A couple days later the green is completely gone and the mycelium is the only color in the jar...even has the signature fungus smell. I have never seen green mold just disappear like this.. I'm curious...so I'm going to leave it by the windowsill and see if it fruits

well...mycelium is naturally meant to overtake competitors, so it's entirely concievable. However, i wouldnt eat the fruits if i were you..especially since you said that the mold was all over the place. good for prints though!
