Mycelium won?

Well... I had a quart of rye that was obviously contaminated with green mold, all over the place...growing alongside the mycelium. I forgot to dump it out and just left it by the windowsill (with the top off and nothing but a filter disc laying on top) A couple days later the green is completely gone and the mycelium is the only color in the jar...even has the signature fungus smell. I have never seen green mold just disappear like this.. I'm curious...so I'm going to leave it by the windowsill and see if it fruits :laugh:

well...mycelium is naturally meant to overtake competitors, so it's entirely concievable. However, i wouldnt eat the fruits if i were you..especially since you said that the mold was all over the place. good for prints though!
