Would this be safe?

I'm wondering if playing Halo 2 one XBL would be too much for a mushroom trip. I don't want to trip and freak out every time I die. This is going to be my first time taking shrooms and all I plan on doing is watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and playing some video games.

Safe? yes. Fun? Prolly not.
Try going out side, i find that halo two is just to much to concentrate on when shroomed and i just end up running around.

You wont know how youll react until you try, and we certainly cant tell you. i wouldnt reccomend it the first time tho, considering the violent nature of the game. but you might really dig it -- eat em and see how you feel!

Over the summer all my friends and i were addicted to xbox live halo2. we were all pretty good and ended up playin one time while we were trippin. it was pretty damn fun but i tripped out at the end. I think the people we were fightin against knew we were trippin or somethin cuz they were messin with us and even tho it was rumble they all came together in the end and were surrounding us but not doing anything, so there was just a ton of red dots on my radar..have fun

Are you watching the new one or the old one? Not a big fan of the old one, but I've seen the new one 3 or 4 times, and every time I've been on mushrooms, or waiting for LSD or LSA to come up (I find with LSD/LSA, once it kicks in - I have no interest in watching movies and turn it off).
But on mushrooms, topnotch+++ great movie.
As for Halo, nawh, you shouldnt freak out every time you die. Mushrooms arnt like that (for me atleast). Unless you're the type of person who freaks out when they get killed in a video game even if sober and get all pissed off that you died - mushrooms may amplify that feeling, but it wont be a 'freak out' and thinking that YOU died because you just got killed in Halo kind of thing.

It's best to just lazily lay down in your bed, close your eyes and enjoy the trip instead of distracting yourself with TV.
Tripping can be wonderful in itself, instead of being something used to alter a movie experience.

you'll be safe in doing that but it's probably not the best way to enjoy mushies. I'd reccomend being outside, no matter what the weather. Even on rainy days it's great to be outside (hopefully under some shelter at this time of year though). Rain sounds AMAZING.

yeah, it'll be safe. I find videogames kinda fun on shrooms, but not during the peak. Especially good while you're coming up. I played counter-strike once on the come up, and was completely dialed in and my play was FLAWLESS. Then i started to peak and just shut it off because it was starting to bore me.
Eat them, start playing, and stop when you can feel that its really about to hit you. And dont worry about "i've never tripped before so i wont know when its about to hit me hard..." Trust me, you'll know

Actually now that I think of it, on the come up video games come highly reccomended from me too. I'm god-like at Soul Caliber 2 during the come up. Once the peak is hit though I stand by my reccomendation of being outside.

Its awesome.

The first time I ever played Battlefield 2 was when I was coming down from a hippyflip. I chose Medic as my class, and referred to every other player on my team as "Jenkins." I guess it seemed like a neutral soldier-like last name. The anguished feeling of whipping out the shock paddles to bring a teammate back to life, only to see them fade away as they respawned elsewhere was incredible...
"JENKINS!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! GOD FUCKING DAMMIT I LOST HIM!!!"
The feeling of switching to an M4 and avenging my comrade's death was even better...
Only play a violent videogame if you're comfortable with completely surrendering yourself to the most visceral emotions that come over humans in nightmarishly high tension situations (like combat with the Covanent for example). View playing the game while tripping just as you should view taking psychedelics by themselves: It's not really a game, so much as it is an experience.
If you choose to do it, I wish you luck soldier!

See, here's the thing, I'm completely in touch with the human condition on psychedelics. That includes the parts that we'd rather ignore, like the desire to crush and destroy all competitors.
I should say right now that I'm not a serial killer. Honest.
When I played BF2 under the influence of typically entheogenic substances, I was suddenly in touch with the deepest parts of the human psyche. I was one with my limbic, lizard brain. I didn't desire the sight of human entrails splayed out across a dusty Baghdad street. But as I was playing, my mind filled in all the gaps for me.
I wasn't just playing a game while sitting at a computer screen, I was the living embodiement for a soldier on the frontlines fighting against an enemy that truly believed that if they died trying to kill me, they would recieve infinite rewards in heaven. For the time that I was playing, I was an American solider. This is strange for me, because in actuality I am a peaceful, hippie, anti-war activist. And yet while seeing combat through the cartoonish distortions of BF2, I understood the motivations of the more martially-oriented.
It sounds stupid, but playing that game was one of the most profound experiences of my life. If for no other reason than that it gave me a glimpse into the military fantasy that so many naive recruits buy in to. For that span of time, I ceased to be WillieTomg the mild mannered well meaning nice guy. I was a hardcore badass killing machine.
I WAS a hardcore killing machine.
And sometimes, when you're coming back from a hard trip like I was at the time, that kind of confidence is exactly what you need when your ego rebuilds itself.

Pahaha, Willie I really did laugh out loud at the Jenkins bit. I hope I'll be able to experience the type of trip you did, it sounds very, very interesting. No kidding.
My friend and I played Halo 2 on a come down once and in the end we just walked up to walls and held down either left or right on the analog stick so a kind of vortex/spiral/patter appeared and we'd trip mad balls. You can also look straight up and just start spinning.
It sounds lame now, but it was a complete technology induced come down.
