Shelves or not?

I have in the past few months switched from the rubbermaid setup to a heavy duty, automated shelf system. The problem is I'm not seeing the results I thought I would by having a more controlled environment. All the conditions are within the parameters per Stamets in the Mushroom Cultivator, yet pinsets have been noticeably delayed and weaker than when I used a simple box with no humidifier, no fan, nothing fancy. Any thoughts or suggestions on this?

Well, it's hard to give advice with the info you've given. Could be lower humidity, a large shelf system can have humidity variations from top to bottom. To know for sure why there's a difference, you'd need to compare the conditions and see what's changed.
Aside from that, describe your setup, how you humidify, tell us what the RH is, the temp, etc.

Perhaps there's a lack of FAE in your shelf system?

SOrry ive been away for a week, umm... lets see. I'm running an ultrasonic cool mist humidifier through a drier duct into the middle of the shelf with a computer fan installed into the drier duct. i found this distributes the humidity more evenly throughout. The humidity stays high, the lights are all high in the blue spectrum and the casings are the same as i've always done, peat moss with vermiculite (50/50). One casing is on 10lbs of horseshit/straw and the others are all cased pf cakes. I also simultaneously cased 10 lbs of horseshit/straw and put it into a rubbermaid container with a clear lid, and did nothing but turn the light on and of and the pins were there in about a week and i had a first flush of 4.25 oz dry of penis envy, with over 250 caps. Something seems wrong to me.

What is the size of the growing environment in cubic feet (x)? What is the rated output of the air intake fan (y)? x/y should be between 20 and 60 (1-3 FAE/hr.)
Also, just because the chamber has enough incoming air doesn't mean that there is enough circulation within the chamber. Try getting another fan or two and putting inside.
Was the casing you simultaneously did NOT in this FC of the same genetics?
Photos would help.

Umm, I have no clue of the fan, it's a fan out of my old computer? The casing i did simultaneously was from the same mycelium culture jar. Sorry I dont have photos, lol. I will try and get some here soon.

So, you have an ultrasonic? If that's it, I'd say you aren't getting enough air exchange! I use a 60"x36"x19"deep growing chamber and mine take two coolmist's running 24/7(top & bottom), as well as an ultrasonic running a few times a day. I've also found that you want to have the intake for the ultrasonic above the top coolmist intake. Cheers
