If it's the kind that passes air through a wet filter to humidify it, then it isn't suitable for mushroom use as you won't get over 60 to 70% humidity from it. You want the motor/impeller type of cool mist. RR

It can still be usefull, if you have a Martha, or Big fruiting chamber. Run an impeller/motor type into the FC (from the outside) for FAE. Place that one INSIDE the FC. The two combined work well like that.
Put a "glug" or 2 of peroxide in it, every time you refill it.

If building your own martha style set up with plastic sheeting. Look for SHEATHING TAPE.. The kind I have is red and translucent. I used it on my set up and it works like a charm holds up great to the high humidity. The stuff is crazy strong tape and sticky as hell. I'm sure it would make the job eaiser then just silicon..
Here's the stuff I used.

An easy way to make a door is to simply hang a piece of plastic slightly larger than your opening from the top of the greenhouse. Attach a piece of PVC to the bottom of the 'door' to hold it down. To open, simply roll up the PVC, then install a hook at the top to hold it open while you work. It's how I did mine. It's completely loose on the edges of the door all the way from top to bottom. The loose fit provides plenty of continuous fresh air exchange, and the humidifier inside provides the humidity. RR

Here is a link to a site with a bit more info on the tape. http://www.venturetape.com/final/construction_products.asp?id=460
I like RogerRabbit's Idea with the PVC tube so you can just roll it up.
Sorry I don't have any pic's but this is what I did: For my door I used a peice of plastic sheeting that fit a little larger then the opening. I added tape the the edges of the plastic just to make it a bit stronger and not want to roll up on me. Then I used...Small strips of sticky VELCRO... workes like a charm. And like roggerrabit said a it's good to have the door a little lose for FAE.
